We’d bet our bottom dollar that some, if not most, of you have set some pretty incredible goals and resolutions for yourselves as we rolled into 2025. Heck, we’ve even got some of our own, too! And the goal is, of course, to stick to these … all year long. Which, now that we think about it, is kind of a long time. 

While millions of Americans begin their New Year’s resolutions with the best of intentions, it seems that most people abandon their newly set goals by the second Friday in January, a day that has lovingly been dubbed “Quitter’s Day.” But who said failing at a New Year’s resolution should be seen as a bad thing??

We think it’s awesome that you set those goals and that you at least tried something new. Even a few days of completing that new resolution of yours is better than no days! The bottom line? People need to LIGHTEN UP! That’s why, instead of shaming folks for throwing in the towel on their resolutions early, we’re raising a glass of our new 30 Minute Light IPA to celebrate their short-lived successes as part of life’s off-centered journey. And to those still going strong, we’re celebrating that, too! 

New Year, New Beer

A new year is the perfect time to reset, set some goals and introduce new things into your life. For us, we took the opportunity to countdown to something truly exciting … the release of our brand-new 30 Minute Light IPA! 

30 Minute Light IPA is a hoppy, crisp and crushable beer with all the body and character of a world class IPA, but only 95 calories and 3.6g carbs per 12oz serving. Proving that “light” can still mean flavorful, this brew is continually hopped for (you guessed it) 30 minutes for a bold yet easy-drinking, hop-forward beer. To celebrate the launch of 30 Minute Light IPA – which coincides with New Year’s Resolution season – we’re celebrating “Quitters Day” by rewarding fans who give up on their resolutions early with beer money, medals and cake!

When we say we’re raising a pint to celebrate the achievements that DID happen this new year, we meant it … literally! Join us at Brewings & Eats in Rehoboth Beach on Quitter’s Day, Friday, Jan. 10, for a pint of 30 Minute Light IPA and a slice of Smith Island Cake! During happy hour, from 4 – 6 p.m., enjoy a pint of this new brew and a slice of cake baked by our pals at the Maryland-based Smith Island Baking Co. (SIBC) for $7! 

SIBC created the perfect sweet treat just for the occasion – a 30 Minute Light IPA-infused Smith Island Cake. Beer-infused cake?! That’s right … not only is the batter for this made-from-scratch, eight-layer, yellow cake is infused with 30 Minute Light IPA, but the cake’s vanilla and orange buttercream frosting includes orange zest to accentuate the beer’s tropical hop characteristics.

If you happen to miss out on happy hour, you can also grab a slice of cake over at Chesapeake & Maine afterwards, while supplies last. 

For our drinkers who aren’t local, this limited-edition cake will be available for purchase nationwide via www.goldbelly.com, starting on Friday, Jan. 10 while supplies last!

Did someone say free beer money??

We sure did! Now through January 16, you can visit www.dogfish.com/quitters-day to share stories of your New Year’s resolution fails. Folks with the top 300 entries* will score $30 in beer money to purchase some 30 Minute Light IPA. Not to mention, our winners will also receive an official “Quitter’s Day” participation medal … because here at Dogfish, everyone’s a winner!
