Crazy Mountain Brewing Celebrates 4th Anniversary in January – Canned Variety Pack, Old Soul, Scenic Route & Snowcat Hitting Cans

Edwards, Colo. – January 2nd, 2014 – Crazy Mountain Brewing Company will ring in their 4^th birthday on Friday, January 10^th, celebrating four years of unprecedented growth here in the Vail Valley as well as nationally and internationally. Founded in 2010, by Kevin and Marisa Selvy, Crazy Mountain started as a craft brewery in a 1,000 sq ft warehouse in Edwards, CO, producing about 1,200 barrels that year. The Selvys brewed small batch local brews and self-distributed to bars and liquor stores in Eagle County and Steamboat in the back of their 25 year old Ford pick up truck.

Today, four years later, Crazy Mountain employs 33 people located around the country. They just underwent their third major expansion to increase their capacity in response to an overwhelming demand for their handcrafted beer. Crazy Mountain has increased their capacity from 12,000 barrels in 2013 to a projected 20,000 barrels in 2014. Crazy Mountain works with 32 distribution companies across 14 states and 3 countries (Sweden, Japan and Hong Kong), a far cry from delivering in a beat up old pick up truck.

Following their expansion Crazy Mountain will release three more of their beer styles in 6-pack cans: Old Soul Strong Belgian Golden Ale, summer seasonal Scenic Route Kolsch, and winter seasonal Snowcat Coffee Stout as well as a mixed 12-pack of a variety of their canned beers. Crazy Mountain will also be releasing a few new seasonal beer styles including Neomexicanus Native Pale Ale (made with a newly discovered hop variety native to North America that is only being used by Crazy Mountain and Sierra Nevada Brewing Co.) and Sangre De Diablo Imperial Red Ale – an Imperial Belgian Red Ale.

This increase in production quantity will bring 10 new jobs to Eagle County. They will be establishing a 24-hour production day, scheduling production and packaging people to run night shifts so they can brew and package beer 24 hours a day to keep up with the growing demand.

Crazy Mountain will be hosting a 4^th Anniversary Party on Friday, January 10^th in our tasting room with a celebratory free beer toasting at 12:00pm,4:00pm and 6:00pm. Be there at those times for a complimentary glass of beer! There will be delicious comfort food provided by Crazy Wagon food truck and a chance to win a semi-private party at Crazy Mountain. Live music will be performed by Denver blues/rock/funk band, “Leung and The Wreck” starting at 6pm. Kick off the Big Beers, Belgians & Barleywines Festival weekend the right way at our 4^th Anniversary Party that Friday.
