Bridgeport Names Hillsboro Hops baseball Beer – Long Ball Ale Coming 6/15

is excited to kick off the Hillsboro Hops season with Long Ball Ale, a light bodied summertime style ale, brewed just for the Hops.

“Our golden summer ale is brewed to be refreshing on a hot summer day at the ball park and maintains a smooth bittering profile with a slight haze to preserve the hop aroma,” commented brewmaster, Jeff Edgerton. “One of my favorite characteristics of this beer is the slight Meyer lemon finish that you get after dry hopping with Meridians, a fairly limited hop in our state.’”

The baseball community is already rallying around it’s newest team and in this spirit, BridgePort turned to its Facebook community to name this beer. After 249 entries were submitted, BridgePort fans were able to vote on their favorite name and Long Ball Ale was the crowd favorite.

Long Ball Ale will debut on June 15th at Helvetia Tavern in Hillsboro, Oregon. Before the first Hops game at home, there will be a Long Ball Ale release party from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. on June 15th at Helvetia Tavern in Hillsboro, Oregon. While enjoying a Long Ball, fans can get autographs, take photos and maybe even talk a little “shop” with players. Can’t make it to the release party? Come try a Long Ball Ale on draft at the Brew Pen, the official beer garden at the Hillsboro Hops Stadium, at the home game debut on June 15th. Long Ball Ale will be on draft exclusively at the stadium Brew Pen, the BridgePort BrewPub in the pearl and at key BridgePort accounts.
