Block 15 Releasing Static Shatter & Tuck’s Harvest Fresh Hop Beers
Try Our First Fresh Hop Beers This Friday
Each year, we make a selection of Fresh Hop beers to celebrate the hop harvest season in the Willamette Valley. Once the hops are ready, they’re harvested from the field and picked up by our brewery team the same day, sometimes within hours. We use different techniques to add the hops to our beer, depending on the outcome we’re looking for.
Static Shatter
Fresh Hop American IPA | 6.75%
Using fresh Strata hops from Coleman’s Alluvial Farm in Independence, Oregon.
Brewed with fresh-picked Strata hops grown less than 25 miles from our brewery, we quickly used liquid nitrogen and a shattering technique to release vibrant notes of passionfruit, cannabis, and fresh-cut alfalfa.
Tuck’s Harvest
Fresh Hop Belgian Pale Ale | 7.30%
Using fresh Hallertau Mittelfrüh from Indie Hops in Silverton, Oregon.
This abbey-style ale was brewed in collaboration with our good friends The Beermongers and Indie Hops. It was inoculated with select Brettanomyces and dry-hopped with fresh hops, resulting in an incredibly complex yet delicate bouquet of orchard fruit, barnyard funk, and fresh-cut grass.
We crafted this beer in celebration of our friends at The BeerMongers’ 16th anniversary. Inspired by Orval, this beer was fermented in our traditional coolship and dry-hopped with Oregon-grown Hallertau Mittelfrüh fresh hops from Indie Hops—paying homage to nearly a thousand years of brewing tradition while remaining uniquely its own.
Try Tuck’s Harvest this Friday at our Southtown Tap Room and Downtown Pub, at The BeerMongers in Portland, and in very select spots around Oregon next week—including Wildwood Taphouse (Tanasbourne & Cedar Hill), Lombard House, and Mayfly Bottle Shop.
