Tröegs Introduces Leaf Seeker West Cost-style IPA
I brought you an early peek at this beer back in Feb, 2025, and now this from Tröegs Independent Brewing in Hershey, Pennsylvania:
HERSHEY, PA – Tröegs Independent Brewing announces the release of Leaf Seeker IPA. This West Coast-style IPA joins the brewery’s lineup of seasonally rotating beers alongside favorites such as Field Study and Blizzard of Hops.
Leaf Seeker takes cues from the bold, hop-forward beers that emerged in the early days of the craft beer movement. Of course, Tröegs is no stranger to this beer style, as its Perpetual IPA continues to be the best-selling craft brand in the brewery’s home state of Pennsylvania.
“West Coast IPAs are experiencing a recent renaissance of sorts,” explains Tröegs co-founding brother and brewmaster John Trogner. “With Leaf Seeker, we wanted to connect the dots between those big, hoppy IPAs from California and Colorado with our own East Coast culture.”
Like many of Tröegs’ beers, Leaf Seeker began in the hop fields of the Pacific Northwest’s Yakima Valley.
“We go to the Yakima Valley every year to make sure we get the right hops,” says Trogner. “To me, it’s the most important ingredient selection we do. We have so many hop-forward beers, so the stakes are high.”
The most recent trip yielded an abundance of Citra, Chinook, and El Dorado hops, all of which combine to infuse Leaf Seeker with notes of sticky citrus, dank pine, and tropical fruit.
Balanced by a backbone of pilsner and Vienna malts, Leaf Seeker weighs in at 6.4% ABV and has just the right amount of bitterness for peak peeping when autumn emerges.
Leaf Seeker West Coast-style IPA is available on draft and in 12-oz. bottles and cans across the brewery’s entire distribution footprint.
Leaf Seeker precedes the release of Tröegs’ Perpetual Exploration seasonally rotating variety pack for fall. Each 12-pack features three cans each of Perpetual IPA, Graffiti Highway IPA, Leaf Seeker, and the forthcoming Oktoberfest Lager.
Beer drinkers can find Leaf Seeker, Perpetual Exploration, and other Tröegs beers near them using the Tröegs Brew Finder.
