Celis Brewery Prepares to Launch Track Suit IPA in 16‑oz Cans
Here we have an exciting new canned beer release coming soon from Celis Brewery in Austin, Texas, the iconic craft brewery known for blending traditional Belgian brewing heritage with the vibrant energy of the Texas craft beer scene. The upcoming beer, Track Suit IPA, is the latest addition to the Celis lineup and continues the brewery’s reputation for producing flavorful, approachable, and highly drinkable craft beers. This new India Pale Ale is designed as a light, crisp, and refreshing session IPA, perfect for warm weather, outdoor gatherings, and fans who want hop character without the heavy alcohol punch.
Track Suit IPA will clock in at a sessionable 4.2% ABV, making it an easy‑drinking IPA that still delivers bright hop aromatics and a clean, modern flavor profile. Expect a refreshing finish, subtle citrus notes, and the kind of smooth drinkability that fits perfectly with Celis Brewery’s “classic meets contemporary” approach. The beer will be packaged in 16‑oz cans, giving it that tallboy craft‑beer presence that IPA drinkers love. And, true to the brewery’s identity, Track Suit IPA proudly carries the Celis motto: “Born in Belgium, Raised in Austin,” a reminder of the brewery’s deep roots in Belgian brewing tradition and its strong connection to the Austin craft beer community.
Stay tuned for full Track Suit IPA release details, distribution updates, tasting notes, and availability information as Celis Brewery prepares to roll out this new session IPA into the Texas craft beer market.
About Celis Brewery:
Celis Brewery is widely recognized as Austin’s first craft brewery, originally founded in 1992 by Belgian brewing legend Pierre Celis. After a 17-year hiatus following its sale to Miller Brewing and subsequent closure in 2001, the brewery was revived in 2017 by Pierre’s daughter, Christine Celis, and his granddaughter, Daytona Camps.
Core Identity & History
The Legend of Pierre Celis: Pierre is credited with resurrecting the nearly extinct Belgian Witbier style in the 1960s in Hoegaarden, Belgium.
The Austin Connection: Pierre moved to Austin in the early 90s, famously “smuggling” his original Belgian yeast strain in his socks to ensure his Texas brews stayed authentic.
The Rebirth: The modern brewery operates out of a 22,000-square-foot facility in North Austin, using original recipes and the same proprietary yeast strain.
Brewery Features
Taproom & Beer Garden: The taproom features a centerpiece bar made from one of Pierre’s original massive copper kettles from the 1990s.
On-Site Amenities: The facility is dog-friendly and often hosts food trucks (such as a Michelin-recognized taco truck) and local events like movie nights and card shows.
Notable Beers
Celis is best known for its traditional Belgian-style ales:
Celis White (4.9% ABV): The flagship witbier brewed with coriander and orange peel.
Celis Pale Bock: A Belgian-style amber bock based on a revived family recipe.
Celis Grand Cru: A high-gravity Belgian Tripel ale (approx. 8.6% ABV).
