This from Banded Brewing:

Our dearest friends,

This is an extremely difficult announcement to make.

After nearly 13 years of brewing beer, serving food, hosting events, supporting our community, and welcoming countless people through our doors, Banded Brewing Co. will be closing at the end of this summer.

Our final day of regular operations is currently planned for August 31st.

Unfortunately, the past several years have brought significant and sustained challenges to many independent brewers like us. Despite the continued support of our customers and community, we have reached a point where continuing operations is no longer sustainable.

There is so much we could say—but for now, we just want to say thank you.

Thank you to every person who has walked through our doors, ordered a beer, shared a meal, attended an event, brought their family and friends, supported a fundraiser, bought a four-pack, recommended us to an out-of-town visitor, or simply chose to spend some time with us. Thank you to Biddeford and the greater Maine community for giving Banded a place to call home. And (of course) thank you to the incredible people who have worked here over the years. Banded would never have become what it is without you.

Banded will remain open and operating throughout the summer, and we plan to make the most of every minute we have left together!

We have nearly 13 years of beers, meals, friendships, celebrations, memories, and good times to raise a glass to—and we can’t think of a better way to close this chapter than by celebrating with all of you. We hope you’ll join us!

Come have a meal. Order your favorite beer. Bring your friends. Sit on the deck. Share your Banded stories with us.

We still have one last summer together. Let’s make it a good one!

Some news hits harder than others, and this one lands with real weight. After nearly thirteen years of brewing beer, serving food, hosting events, supporting local causes, and welcoming thousands of people through their doors, Banded Brewing Co. has announced that it will close at the end of this summer. The final day of regular operations is planned for August 31, marking the end of an era for one of Maine’s most beloved independent breweries.

The announcement reflects the difficult reality facing many small and mid‑sized breweries across the country. The past several years have brought sustained challenges to independent brewers, from rising costs to shifting market conditions. Despite strong community support, Banded has reached a point where continuing operations is no longer sustainable. It is a decision made with heavy hearts and deep gratitude.

The brewery’s message to its fans is simple: thank you. Thank you to every person who walked through the doors, ordered a beer, shared a meal, attended an event, supported a fundraiser, bought a four‑pack, recommended Banded to visiting friends, or simply chose to spend time in the taproom. Thank you to Biddeford and the greater Maine community for giving Banded Brewing a home. And thank you to the staff, past and present, whose creativity, passion, and dedication shaped the brewery’s identity.

Although the closing date is set, Banded Brewing is determined to make the most of its final summer. The brewery will remain fully open through August, giving fans a chance to return, reconnect, and celebrate everything Banded has meant to the community. Thirteen years of beers, meals, friendships, celebrations, and memories deserve a proper sendoff, and Banded plans to raise a glass with everyone who has been part of the journey.

Visitors are encouraged to come enjoy their favorite beer, share a meal, sit on the deck, bring friends, and tell their Banded stories. This final summer is an opportunity to celebrate the brewery’s legacy and honor the people who helped build it. It is a chance to gather, reminisce, and appreciate the role Banded Brewing has played in Maine’s craft beer culture.

There is still time to enjoy everything that made Banded special. One last summer. One last season of shared pints, good food, and community. Let’s make it a good one.

About Banded Brewing Co.

Banded Brewing Co. is a cornerstone of Maine’s modern craft beer scene, known for its creativity, community focus, and commitment to producing high quality beer in the heart of Biddeford. Founded in 2013, Banded emerged during a period of rapid growth in New England craft brewing and quickly established itself as a brewery with a strong identity, a welcoming atmosphere, and a dedication to pushing flavor boundaries while staying rooted in local culture.

From the beginning, Banded Brewing embraced a philosophy centered on innovation and inclusivity. The brewery’s taproom became a gathering place for locals, visitors, families, artists, musicians, and beer lovers seeking a space that felt both vibrant and comfortable. Banded’s approach to beer reflected that same spirit, offering a wide range of styles including IPAs, lagers, sours, stouts, mixed fermentation ales, and seasonal releases that showcased both technical skill and creative flair.

Banded Brewing’s portfolio earned praise for its balance of drinkability and experimentation. The brewery became known for hop forward offerings, bold fruited sours, and expressive dark beers, all crafted with attention to detail and a willingness to explore new ideas. Their beers appeared in taprooms, restaurants, and retail shelves across Maine, helping elevate the state’s reputation as a destination for craft beer enthusiasts.

Beyond the beer, Banded Brewing built a strong connection to its community. The brewery hosted events, supported local organizations, collaborated with artists, and created a space where people could gather for celebrations, fundraisers, live music, and shared experiences. The taproom became a cultural hub in Biddeford, contributing to the city’s revitalization and helping shape its identity as a creative and welcoming place.

Banded’s team played a central role in its success. Brewers, bartenders, chefs, managers, and staff brought passion and personality to the brewery, creating an environment defined by hospitality and authenticity. Their dedication helped build a loyal following that supported Banded through more than a decade of growth and change.

As Banded Brewing prepares to close its doors, its legacy remains firmly rooted in the community it served. The brewery leaves behind thirteen years of craft beer excellence, meaningful connections, and a lasting impact on Maine’s brewing landscape. Banded Brewing Co. will be remembered for its creativity, its heart, and the countless memories shared within its walls.
