Anheuser-Busch Sending 100,000 Cans of Emergency Drinking Water to Help Louisiana Communities Prepare for Tropical Storm Barry

Anheuser-Busch is delivering two truckloads – more than 100,000 cans – of emergency drinking water to support relief efforts in advance of Tropical Storm Barry which is expected to make landfall in Louisiana this week. The delivery is in response to a request from the American Red Cross to help prepare communities threatened by the worsening storm.

The emergency drinking water will be delivered to Anheuser-Busch wholesaler partners, Mockler Beverage Company in Baton Rouge, LA and Southern Eagle Sales & Service in Metairie, LA, who will work alongside the American Red Cross to distribute the water locally to those in need.

The donation of clean, safe drinking water will be transported from Anheuser-Busch’s Cartersville, Georgia brewery, which alongside the company’s Fort Collins, Colorado brewery, periodically pauses beer production throughout the year to can emergency drinking water to be ready to help communities in times of disaster.

Anheuser-Busch has a longstanding tradition of providing support for disaster relief efforts in partnership with the American Red Cross. Since the inception of the emergency drinking water program in 1988, Anheuser-Busch and its wholesaler partners have provided more than 81 million cans of water to U.S. communities affected by natural disasters nationwide.

This year, Anheuser-Busch has provided more than 700,000 cans of emergency drinking water to support disaster relief efforts – including those in regions of Texas, Arkansas, Iowa, Missouri, Nebraska, and Oklahoma impacted by severe flooding as well as California communities following the recent earthquakes.
