Here’s your first look at a new Pilot Series Beer coming from Alaskan Brewing in Juneau, AK. This is SMaSH Galaxy and it looks like this single hop single malt Double IPA will be using Galaxy hops. This is a 22oz bottle, the beer hits 8.5%-AbV and I love the hop aurora borealis.

Alaskan Brewing has taken a minimalist approach to brewing with a series of IPA’s meant to highlight individual ingredients. Pilot Series SMaSH Galaxy Double IPA lets the Australian hop’s characteristics shine bright.
SIngle Malt and Single Hop brews, which have been gaining in popularity since around 2009, favor simplicity by featuring one malt, in this case Pilsener, and one hop for both bittering and aromatics. Galaxy is known for its passion fruit and exotic citrus notes.
