Alesong Brewing & Blending Adding Rhino Suit & Coconut Rhino Suit

Today I have some new bottles coming from Alesong Brewing & Blending in Eugene, OR. Rhino Suit will be an imperial milk stout aged in Bourbon barrels with cocoa that hits 13.5%-AbV and Coconut Rhino Suit will be an imperial milk stout aged in Bourbon barrels with cocoa and coconut that hits 13.6%-AbV. These are both 500ml bottles and stay tuned for release info.

Rhino Suit 2021

Rhino Suit was the first spirits barrel-aged beer we released at Alesong, but remains one of our favorites. This year’s rendition of our imperial milk stout was matured in a blend of freshly emptied bourbon barrels to add velvety notes of vanilla and caramel to the sweet and chocolatey malt flavors of the base stout.

Barrels: Heaven Hill bourbon

ABV: 12.4%

Microbes: Saccharomyces

Food Pairings: Cocoa braised lamb shoulder, foie gras, Rogue Creamery Rogue River Blue cheese, chocolate chip and sea salt cookies

Rhino Suit Coconut 2021

We aged our rich and chocolatey imperial milk stout in freshly-emptied Heaven Hill bourbon barrels to add flavors of vanilla and caramel to the sweet bourbon-like notes. We then added mountains of toasted coconut, elevating an already decadent beer to blissful new heights of dessert ecstasy.

Food pairings: Hawaiian spareribs, chocolate dipped macaroon, Prince Pückler’s Fresh Raspberry ice cream
