Dogfish Head Miami Adding Sweat? Stout CollaborationThis morning I have a new beer coming from the Dogfish Head Miami Residency in Miami, FL. This is Sweat?…Stout! and it will be a collaboration with Sweat Records brewed for Record Store Day. The beer will be a tropical stout with fair-trade Haitian coffee beans, fresh-pressed sugar cane juice and toasted coconut flakes. If that’s not enough fun, this brew uses lager yeast and it will spin in at 5%-AbV. You’re looking at the 16oz can and stay tuned for release details.

This 19 Apr 2022 update from Dogfish Head:

We’re less than a week away from vinyl’s biggest day of the year, and we’ve put together a lineup of Record Store Day celebrations that’s sure to make your head spin! Between Dogfish Head Miami to our Milton brewery Tasting Room & Kitchen, and a multi-location celebration with our friends at Brooklyn Bowl, we’ve got a little something for everyone! Check it…

Dogfish Head Miami

In honor of Record Store Day and Miami Beer Week, our team at Dogfish Head Miami is partnering with beloved Miami record store Sweat Records to host a day full of celebrations showcasing music, art and beer on Saturday, Apr. 23. As the Official Brewery of Record Store Day, our locations across the nation have previously brought together independent beer and independent record stores, collaborating with world renowned artists and bands including Jimmie Allen, Galaxie 500, Grateful Dead, Pearl Jam and the Miles Davis Estate.

This year, Dogfish Head Miami will join in the Record Store Day festivities, beginning at noon on Apr. 23, with the launch of a new, Sweat Records-inspired beer, Sweat?…Stout! and celebration of the vinyl release of Richie Hell’s exclusive Record Store Day album, Gumbo Limbo Remixes. From 3-7 p.m., music, beer and art lovers alike can catch DJ DISCOSEXO on the turntables. The Record Store Day fun continues with a special performance by Richie Hell with live percussion at 8 p.m.

“There’s nothing quite like the full-sensory experience of enjoying an awesome beer while listening to an amazing album on vinyl,” says Dogfish Head founder and brewer Sam Calagione. “The enjoyment of a beautiful beer alongside an amazing album is an exponentially awesome experience, and we at Dogfish take every opportunity we can get to weave together the art of brewing and our love of music.”

Our partnership with Sweat Records spotlights local artists through the Sweat?…Stout! beer release and Richie Hell’s exclusive Record Store Day vinyl drop. The brightly-colored Sweat?…Stout! cans were designed by Francisca Oyhanarte to mirror the iconic album cover and vinyl design. Brewed with our friends at Sweat Records for Record Store Day, this tropical stout is inspired by the record store’s hometown, Little Haiti. This sessional and surprisingly refreshing stout is brewed with fair trade Haitian coffee beans, fresh-pressed Florida sugar cane juice and toasted coconut flakes. Fermented with lager yeast, this stout has a clean, crisp finish that will have anyone that imbibes spinning records all night long. The 16-ounce, four-pack cans will be available for purchase for $16. To add to the fun, the first 50 people that purchase a four-pack of Sweat?…Stout! will receive a free poster with art by Francisca Oyhanarte.

Brooklyn Bowl – Brooklyn, Philadelphia, Nashville, and Las Vegas

Music has been a part of Dogfish Head since before Dogfish Head. So, it’s a natural fit for a brewery that makes ‘Analog Beer for the Digital Age’ to be the Official Beer of Record Store Day! A celebration of the unique culture of record stores and the special role they play in their communities, we’re getting in on the fun with our friends at Brooklyn Bowl!

To kick things off, join Dogfish Head founder Sam Calagione and Carrie from Record Store Day on Friday, Apr. 22 at Brooklyn Bowl, Brooklyn for panel where they’ll chat all things music and beer. We’ll then roll into an amazing show by Handsome Boy Modeling School. Click here for details!

Then, after you’ve secured your Record Store Day haul on Saturday, Apr. 23, come celebrate Record Store Day at one of Brooklyn Bowl’s four locations with our Record Store Day After Party! You’ll find a selection of your favorite off-centered ales and an some incredible performances.

It’s sure to be a night you won’t want to miss!

  • Brooklyn Bowl, Brooklyn – 4 p.m.
    • Performance by: “Songs In The Key of Purple”: A Stevie and Prince Tribute by the Atomic Funk Project
  • Brooklyn Bowl, Nashville – 5 p.m.
    • Performance by: “Emo Night” with Ryan Key of Yellowcard
  • Brooklyn Bowl, Philadelphia – 5 p.m.
    • Performance by: The Darkness

    • Performance by: Pigeons Playing Ping Pong

Dogfish Head Tasting Room & Kitchen

Now in our seventh consecutive year as the Official Beer of Record Store Day, we’re inviting beer and music lovers to stop by our Milton Tasting Room & Kitchen on Sunday, Apr. 24, from 12-4 p.m., to celebrate the occasion with a day chock-full of off-centered events. Here’s what to expect!

The Music: No Record Store Day party would be complete without a boatload of music-centric goodness! In addition to DJ @jimshreds in the Tasting Room spinning vinyl, our Record Store Day happenings will feature an outdoor, pop-up record shop hosted by the folks at Extended Play by Gidget’s Gadgets Retro Emporium. The Extended Play team will be onsite to assist in your search to find the perfect album.

The Beer: It wouldn’t be a Dogfish Head event without the release of a new, limited-edition beer … enter Temporal Abyss! Launching at noon on Sunday, Apr. 24, Temporal Abyss is an 11.7% ABV, bourbon barrel-aged imperial stout. Brewed with cocoa nibs, vanilla beans and toasted coconut, this dark and decadent sipper is priced at $20 per 500ml bottle. Available only while supplies last.

But that’s not all! Throughout the celebration, visitors will have the opportunity to win a variety of giveaways and raffle prizes. What kind of prizes? Stop by to find out!
