Lone Tree Brewing Hop Zombie Day

Hop Zombie is back. And if the last fourteen years have taught Lone Tree Brewing Company anything, it’s that some beer releases don’t need a month-long marketing campaign to get people through the door, they just need a beer with a reputation, a limited supply and a release day that fans know better than to miss. On Saturday, October 24, 2026, the Colorado brewery will bring back Hop Zombie Imperial Red IPA for its fourteenth annual appearance, and this is a one-day release at the Lone Tree Brewing Main location.

This isn’t just another fall IPA showing up on a tap list. Hop Zombie Day has become one of Lone Tree Brewing’s signature annual beer events, built around a big, bold imperial red IPA that has earned its own following over the years. The beer checks in at 9% ABV and 90 IBUs, with a serious hop profile and a silver medal from the 2017 Great American Beer Festival in the Imperial Red Ale category, so there is some real brewing history behind all the Halloween-season fun. Fans can expect beer on tap, cans and merchandise while supplies last, with the first ten people in line receiving specialty merchandise.

The theme changes every year, which gives Hop Zombie another reason to return to the conversation beyond the beer itself. For 2026, Lone Tree Brewing is drawing inspiration from Dungeon Crawler Carl, bringing a pop-culture twist to a release that already leans into its own slightly sinister identity. Fourteen years is a long time to keep an annual beer interesting, and the brewery has managed to turn Hop Zombie into a recognizable tradition without losing the limited-release appeal that makes people show up early. No long window to grab it later. No guarantee it’ll be waiting next week.

The brewery plans to tap Hop Zombie at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 24, and the release is limited to Lone Tree Brewing’s Main location, so fans should plan accordingly rather than assume they’ll find it at the Parker tasting room or a local retailer. With the beer available for one day only and supplies expected to be limited, Lone Tree Brewing is bringing back a Colorado beer tradition that mixes imperial red IPA strength, Halloween-season energy and a release-day experience that has kept Hop Zombie on its annual calendar for fourteen years; here’s the official announcement from the brewery.

LONE TREE, CO– Hop Zombie Imperial Red IPA will return to Lone Tree Brewing Company for the fourteenth year this Saturday, October 24. Hop Zombie Day is one day only, and this cult-followed beer is only available at Lone Tree Brewing – Main.

Award-winning, mysteriously drinkable, and nearly gone before it ever really arrives, Hop Zombie is one of those beers that brings fans back to the good ole days of a line of people out the door on release day. Only, that’s not nostalgia— that’s what guests can expect this Saturday at Lone Tree Brewing. The first 10 people in line will score specialty merchandise, and everyone behind them can get the beer on tap and merch and beer to-go while limited supplies last. Hop Zombie will disappear back into the darkness by the end of the day.

For fourteen years now, the Lone Tree Brewing team has brought back Hop Zombie with a refreshed theme inspired by pop culture each year. In 2026, Hop Zombie has a Dungeon Crawler Carl aesthetic.

Hop Zombie is a big, bold IPA with a devilishly delicious blend of hops. At 9% ABV and a formidable 90 IBUs, it was the silver medal winner at the 2017 Great American Beer Festival® in the Imperial Red Ale category. It is the most anticipated beer release of the year at Lone Tree Brewing.

Lone Tree Brewing will tap Hop Zombie for its opening at 11am on Saturday, October 24. Media inquiring about this phenomenon, or any of Lone Tree’s other beers, can contact Emily Hutto at [email protected].

ABOUT LONE TREE BREWING CO.

Lone Tree Brewing Company was the first brewery to open in Lone Tree, Colorado in Denver’s South Metro area in 2011, and has remained a local staple for more than a decade. Now deeply rooted in this community, the brewing company is growing friends at its two tasting rooms– the original location near Park Meadows Mall in Lone Tree, and the recently opened Lone Tree Brewing Parker in the heart of Parker, Colorado. Find Lone Tree’s stylistically diverse lineup of canned beers in cans and on draft in Colorado and Kansas to enjoy with your buds. Visit the brewery online at lonetreebrewingco.com.

Lone Tree Brewing Company is an independent Colorado craft brewery that has spent more than a decade building a following through approachable beers, bold seasonal releases and a strong connection to its local community. Founded in 2011, Lone Tree Brewing was the first brewery to open in Lone Tree, Colorado, in the Denver South Metro area. Since then, the brewery has grown from a local destination into a recognized name among Colorado craft beer drinkers, with a diverse lineup that includes lagers, pale ales, IPAs, amber ales and limited-edition specialty beers.

The brewery’s identity is built around brewing beer for a wide range of tastes and occasions. Its lineup includes approachable everyday beers alongside more adventurous releases designed for drinkers who enjoy stronger flavors and distinctive brewing styles. Mexican Lager, Red Ale, Blueberry Blonde Ale, IPA and Double IPA are among the beers associated with the brewery’s broader portfolio, while rotating seasonal offerings give customers something new to discover throughout the year.

One of Lone Tree Brewing’s best-known releases is Hop Zombie Imperial Red IPA, a powerful, hop-forward beer that has become an annual tradition. The beer returns each year with a new pop-culture-inspired theme, making Hop Zombie Day as much a celebration of the brewery’s personality as it is a release of a particular beer. At 9% alcohol by volume and 90 IBUs, Hop Zombie delivers the strength and bitterness expected from an Imperial Red IPA. Its silver medal at the 2017 Great American Beer Festival in the Imperial Red Ale category helped establish its credentials beyond its devoted local following.

Hop Zombie Day is an example of how Lone Tree Brewing uses limited releases to bring beer fans together. The annual event encourages customers to visit early, purchase limited beer and merchandise, and experience a release that will not remain available indefinitely. The brewery’s decision to refresh the theme each year adds another reason for returning fans to follow the release, while the one-day format gives the event a distinct identity within the Colorado craft beer calendar.

The brewery also maintains a strong seasonal program beyond Hop Zombie. Vanilla Caramel Amber has become a returning autumn favorite, combining caramel malt and vanilla character with a hop presence intended to balance the beer’s richer flavors. Seasonal lager releases, including Oktoberfest and Helles, give the brewery another way to explore traditional European styles while serving Colorado drinkers who appreciate well-made, flavorful beer.

Lone Tree Brewing operates two tasting rooms: its original location near Park Meadows Mall in Lone Tree and Lone Tree Brewing Parker in Parker, Colorado. Both locations help connect the brewery with its surrounding communities and give customers places to enjoy fresh beer, discover seasonal releases and take part in brewery events. The locations also provide different settings for the company’s limited releases and community gatherings, although individual beers and events may be restricted to one location.

Distribution is another part of the brewery’s operation. Lone Tree Brewing beers are available in Colorado and have also reached Kansas, with packaged and draft availability varying by beer and market. In 2026, the brewery announced a Colorado distribution partnership with Elite Brands, supporting the availability of its year-round beers and seasonal releases across the state.

The brewery has also received recognition for its brewing. Its Mexican Lager earned a bronze medal at the 2026 World Beer Cup, marking the company’s first award at that competition. The result added another achievement to a portfolio that balances familiar beer styles with limited releases and specialty offerings.

Lone Tree Brewing Company’s approach combines local roots, a varied beer lineup and a willingness to give returning favorites a fresh identity. From its approachable lagers to its bold Imperial Red IPA, the brewery continues to serve Colorado craft beer fans with beers that suit different preferences and seasons.
