Fathers Brewing is taking a major step beyond its California roots, bringing its USDA-certified organic lagers to Philadelphia for the first time. The young brewery is entering one of America’s most passionate beer markets at a time when the brand is reporting remarkable retail momentum, making the Philadelphia expansion an important test of whether its clean, straightforward approach to American lager can connect with consumers beyond its home state.

The launch also comes with some serious Philadelphia star power. Eagles legend Lane Johnson is an investor and ambassador for Fathers, while chef and Eagles superfan Robert Irvine is joining the brand for a home-opener tailgate featuring his take on the classic Philly cheesesteak.

Fathers will arrive through Penn Beer Sales & Service with retail availability that includes Gopuff, giving Philadelphia drinkers a quick way to find both Clean American Lager and Clean American Light Lager. Rapidly-growing organic lager brand enters first out-of-state market with Penn Distribution and Gopuff

PHILADELPHIA, Sept. 9, 2026 — Fathers Brewing, the USDA certified organic lager brand launched in 2025, today announced its expansion into Philadelphia this September, marking the company’s first market outside California. The move extends Fathers’ growing retail momentum into a market known for deep neighborhood loyalty, sports culture and a strong beer tradition.

The expansion comes less than one year after Fathers launched packaged products. The company is currently on pace for 672% year-over-year growth, driven by expanding retail distribution and strong same-store performance.

Philadelphia will launch in partnership with Penn Beer Sales & Service. Fathers will be available at retailers including on Gopuff for delivery in as fast as 15 minutes.

Eagles’ fan favorite, 5X All-Pro, 6X Pro Bowler, 2X World Champion, top NFL tackle, and Philadelphia legend, Lane Johnson, is a Fathers’ investor and ambassador. He believes Philadelphia is a natural fit for the brand given the city’s passionate fanbase and culture.

To help kick off Fathers’ arrival in Philadelphia, acclaimed chef, entrepreneur and die-hard Eagles fan Robert Irvine will join the festivities at an Eagles home-opener tailgate on September 13, serving fans his take on the classic Philly cheesesteak.

“I’m a huge Eagles fan, so there’s nowhere I’d rather be for the home opener,” said Irvine. “Fathers is bringing the great beer, I’m bringing the cheesesteaks, and Eagles fans will bring the energy. Go Birds.”

The expansion follows a breakout year for Fathers.

Fathers is now sold through Whole Foods Market, Sprouts Farmers Market, BevMo!, GoPuff, Total Wine & More and Costco. At Whole Foods Market, Fathers is the No. 1 organic beer brand by sales per store in 2026, the No. 4 new beer, cider or non-alcoholic brand by total sales, and has the No. 1 organic beer SKU by sales per store.

Fathers launched at Costco over Father’s Day weekend in June 2026 and has since posted more than 80% same-store sales growth across its original locations.

The velocity we’re seeing at retailers gives us confidence that what started in Northern California can translate well beyond California.”

Fathers makes its Clean American Lager and Clean American Light Lager with organic ingredients, traditional lager brewing techniques and a focus on quality, transparency and a clean, crisp drinking experience.

The company intends to enter Southern California in 2027 while expanding throughout Northern California. Fathers is also planning a major activation surrounding Super Bowl LXI week in Southern California.

“We’ve tried to be very deliberate about expansion,” Begley added. “We want to enter a market, build real density and prove that people come back and buy it again. California gave us that proof. Philadelphia is where we get to prove it again.”
