Ground Breaker Brewing is bringing one of its increasingly popular seasonal beers back for late summer, giving gluten-free craft beer drinkers another opportunity to enjoy Louise West Coast Pilsner. Originally introduced in 2025, Louise combines the clean, crisp character of a traditional pilsner with the modern hop profile of a West Coast-style beer.

This year’s Louise gets an especially interesting hop update with Lórien, a hop variety developed by Indie Hops and Oregon State University. Designed specifically with crisp, lower-gravity lagers in mind, Lórien brings aromas and flavors of zest, melon, sweet hay and wildflowers while allowing the underlying malt character to remain part of the drinking experience.

At 4.9% ABV, Louise West Coast Pilsner occupies a particularly appealing spot for late-summer beer drinking. It offers enough hop character to satisfy fans of modern American craft beer without sacrificing the refreshing, clean profile expected from a pilsner. The return also highlights Ground Breaker’s continued effort to bring innovative beer styles to the dedicated gluten-free craft beer community.

Here is the complete release information from Ground Breaker Brewing:

Louise, Ground Breaker Brewing’s hoppy West Coast-style Pilsner, is back in time for late summer. Now featuring Lórien hops, a variety developed by Indie Hops and Oregon State University. Designed with crisp, lower-gravity lagers in mind, Lórien provides aromas of zest, melon, sweet hay, and wildflowers while letting the beer’s malt platform shine. Louise West Coast Pilsner clocks in at 4.9% alcohol by volume.

First released in the spring of 2025, Louise was formulated and brewed by Ground Breaker’s Head Brewer Gloria Zeiger. “Louise is my great grandma’s name,” said Zeiger. “Women are often a creative source without much credit, especially 50 years ago when my great-grandmother was alive. This beer is an homage to her as much as it is to women in beer.”Louise first debuted in Ground Breaker’s seasonal lineup in 2025. The West Coast Pilsner style has steadily risen in popularity over the last few years. Now, Louise is back to meet the gluten-free beer consumer’s demand.Louise West Coast Pilsner is now available in 16oz cans and in kegs at the Ground Breaker Brewing pub. It will be available through Ground Breaker’s distribution partners in the coming weeks.
