AleSmith & Omnipollo Team Up For Forged Collaborations Hazy IPA
AleSmith Brewing Company is adding another exciting collaboration to its 2026 lineup, and this time the San Diego craft beer powerhouse is joining forces with Sweden’s Omnipollo for a new hazy IPA. Today I have your first look at AleSmith Forged Collaborations, a tropical and citrus-forward Hazy India Pale Ale created through AleSmith’s ongoing Forged Collaborations series.
The new Alemith Forged Collaborations Hazy IPA brings together three highly sought-after hop varieties: Citra, Nelson Sauvin and Riwaka. According to the label, the beer is designed around tropical, citrusy and dank characteristics, making this a particularly intriguing collaboration for fans of modern hazy IPA and intensely aromatic hop-forward craft beer.
The beer will be brewed at AleSmith Brewing Company in San Diego, California, and the label identifies the brewery as being established in 1995. The collaboration partners are AleSmith Brewing Company and Omnipollo, the internationally recognized Swedish brewery known for its creative and experimental approach to modern craft beer.
AleSmith Forged Collaborations Hazy IPA
The label describes Forged Collaborations as a series that brings AleSmith together with friends from around the world to create something new through a shared passion for beer. For this release, AleSmith teamed up with its friends at Omnipollo in Sweden to create a hazy IPA featuring passionfruit, white grape, citrus and a touch of dankness.
That flavor description fits naturally with the hop lineup. Citra is widely associated with intense citrus and tropical fruit character, while Nelson Sauvin can contribute distinctive white grape and wine-like fruit notes. Riwaka is prized by hop enthusiasts for its highly aromatic citrus and tropical character. Together, the three hops give this new AleSmith and Omnipollo collaboration plenty of potential for a complex, fruit-forward and highly aromatic drinking experience.
The Forged Collaborations Hazy India Pale Ale comes in at 6.7% ABV and will be packaged in 16-ounce cans, according to the information provided with the release. The label also identifies the beer as a Hand-Forged Ale, reinforcing AleSmith’s emphasis on craft brewing and its long history of producing specialty ales, IPAs, stouts and collaborative beers.
The packaging features the distinctive AleSmith anvil logo alongside Omnipollo’s recognizable artwork and branding. The colorful label also highlights the beer’s “Tropical • Citrusy • Dank” character and identifies it as a Hazy India Pale Ale.
AleSmith has a long history of working with other breweries on specialty releases, from San Diego collaborations to nationally recognized brewing partnerships. MyBeerBuzz has previously covered AleSmith collaborations with Beachwood Brewing, Mikkeller, Weathered Souls and other brewing partners.

About AleSmith Brewing Company:
AleSmith Brewing Company is one of the most respected names in San Diego craft beer, with a brewing history dating back to 1995. Founded by Peter Zien, AleSmith has developed a worldwide reputation for brewing high-quality, distinctive craft ales while maintaining a strong connection to the Southern California beer community. From its award-winning imperial stouts and classic West Coast IPAs to barrel-aged beers, Belgian-inspired ales, seasonal releases and innovative collaborations, AleSmith has built an exceptionally diverse craft beer portfolio.
The San Diego brewery is particularly well known for beers such as AleSmith IPA and Speedway Stout, two releases that helped establish the brewery as an influential force in American craft brewing. AleSmith’s IPA has long represented the hop-forward character associated with San Diego beer, while Speedway Stout has become one of the brewery’s signature imperial stouts, spawning numerous specialty versions and collaborations.
AleSmith has also earned an impressive reputation through national and international beer competitions. Earlier coverage of the brewery noted AleSmith’s numerous medals from the Great American Beer Festival and World Beer Cup, reflecting the brewery’s longstanding commitment to brewing quality and consistency.
Collaboration is another important part of the AleSmith story. The brewery has worked with breweries and brewing organizations from San Diego and beyond, creating everything from hazy and West Coast IPAs to imperial stouts and specialty beers. Past projects have included collaborations with Mikkeller, Weathered Souls, Beachwood Brewing and numerous San Diego breweries.
That collaborative spirit has continued as AleSmith has expanded its production capabilities. In 2024, Craft ‘Ohana announced a partnership under which AleSmith would take over production of Modern Times beer at its San Diego brewery, further demonstrating the scale and brewing expertise AleSmith has developed.
AleSmith’s relationship with Mikkeller also has deep roots. The breweries began collaborating years ago, and AleSmith later became a U.S. brewing partner for Mikkeller following changes to Mikkeller’s San Diego operations. That history highlights AleSmith’s ability to work with international brewing brands while maintaining its own identity as a San Diego brewery.
Today, AleSmith continues to explore new brewing territory through limited releases, seasonal beers, anniversary beers, barrel-aged projects and collaborations. The brewery’s 2025 Belmont Park Centennial IPA, for example, combined AleSmith’s San Diego heritage with a hop-forward West Coast IPA featuring Krush, Chinook Cryo and Centennial hops.
The new Forged Collaborations Hazy IPA with Omnipollo fits naturally into that tradition. Combining AleSmith’s San Diego brewing heritage with Omnipollo’s internationally minded approach to modern beer, the 6.7% ABV hazy IPA showcases Citra, Nelson Sauvin and Riwaka hops while bringing tropical, citrus, white grape and dank notes to the glass.
For craft beer drinkers searching for AleSmith Brewing Company, San Diego IPA, hazy IPA, Omnipollo collaboration, Citra IPA, Nelson Sauvin IPA, Riwaka IPA and California craft beer, AleSmith remains a brewery worth watching as it continues to develop new beers and collaborations.
