Today I have a classic witbier returning as a 2026 Vintage Brew from Samuel Adams in Boston, Massachusetts. This is Blackberry Witbier and it will remain a wheat ale brewed with blackberries and spices that will slice in at a sessionable 5.5 percent ABV and a sweeter 10 IBU. The beer will be packaged in these new 12 oz bottles and stay tuned for more details.

Label Text Samuel Adams Blackberry Witbier:

“BLACKBERRY WITBIER Bursting with blackberry flavor, this fruit forward fan favorite is an ode to traditional Belgian style brewing. It’s slightly sweet, tart, and back for a limited time only. Jim Koch SAMUEL ADAMS VINTAGE BREW 30025”

The return of Samuel Adams Blackberry Witbier as a 2026 Vintage Brew marks one of the most exciting seasonal announcements of the year. Fans of fruit-forward wheat ales will immediately recognize the signature balance of sweetness, tartness, and refreshing blackberry character that made this beer a standout in previous releases. Samuel Adams has a long history of reviving beloved classics through its Vintage Brew program, and Blackberry Witbier fits perfectly into that tradition.

This week’s beer news highlights the growing interest in fruit driven wheat ales as breweries nationwide embrace summer friendly profiles. Blackberry Witbier arrives at the perfect moment, offering a bright, expressive, and flavorful option for warm weather drinking. The beer’s 5.5 percent ABV keeps it approachable, while the 10 IBU ensures a gentle bitterness that allows the blackberry character to shine. The addition of spices adds depth and complexity, creating a layered drinking experience that appeals to both casual drinkers and dedicated craft beer fans.

The new 12 oz bottle packaging gives Blackberry Witbier a fresh look for 2026. The label’s purple background, gold accents, and signature Samuel Adams Vintage Brew emblem create a striking visual identity that stands out on shelves. Jim Koch’s signature reinforces the brewery’s commitment to craftsmanship and tradition. The limited time nature of the release adds excitement, encouraging fans to seek out the beer before it disappears again.

Samuel Adams Blackberry Witbier also reflects the broader trend of breweries revisiting classic recipes and reintroducing fan favorites. Drinkers continue to show strong interest in nostalgic releases that capture the spirit of earlier craft beer eras. Blackberry Witbier’s return taps directly into that enthusiasm, offering a beer that feels both familiar and refreshed.

The flavor profile remains rooted in traditional Belgian style witbier brewing. The wheat base provides a soft, smooth foundation, while the blackberry addition brings vibrant fruit character. The slight sweetness balances the tartness, creating a harmonious blend that makes the beer highly drinkable. The spices add subtle warmth and aromatic complexity, enhancing the overall experience.

This week’s beer news on mybeerbuzz.com has been filled with major releases, returning favorites, and seasonal highlights, and Blackberry Witbier stands out as one of the most anticipated announcements. As breweries continue to innovate and revisit classics, Samuel Adams demonstrates how a well-executed revival can capture attention and generate excitement across the craft beer community.

Blackberry Witbier’s return as a 2026 Vintage Brew reinforces Samuel Adams commitment to producing beers that celebrate tradition, creativity, and flavor. Fans can look forward to enjoying this fruit forward wheat ale throughout the season, and more updates will follow as distribution details become available.
