Summer Fun is on the Horizon with Tröegs Sunshine Salt + Lime Lager
HERSHEY, Pennsylvania – Tröegs Independent Brewing announces the return of Sunshine Salt + Lime Lager.
The refreshing, citrus-forward lager is part of the independent, family-owned brewery’s rotating Once-a-Year series, which also includes the iconic beers Mad Elf, Nugget Nectar, and Nimble Giant.
Sunshine Salt + Lime Lager starts with a combination of pilsner malt and flaked rice to lend a crisp, clean flavor profile. German Hallertau Tradition hops provide balance, while additions of lime zest oil and kosher salt tie in those beach vibes.
“We brewed a Scratch batch a few summers ago and loved the results,” says Tröegs co-founding brother and brewmaster John Trogner. “Salt + Lime Lager was originally released as a variety pack-exclusive beer, but due to its popularity, we added it to our Once-a-Year series.”
In the end, this 4.3% ABV lager delivers a zesty note of lime and a touch of salt that will transport you to the shore.
“This is definitely the beer you want in hand while you’re vacationing at the beach,” says Trogner.
Sunshine Salt + Lime Lager is now available on draft and in 12-ounce cans across the brewery’s entire distribution footprint. Beer drinkers can track down this and other Tröegs beers near them using the Tröegs Brew Finder.

Family-owned. Independently crafted.
In the past 25 years, Tröegs has grown from two brothers to 250 people, but we’re still very much a family business. Because we stay true to our core values of independence and family ownership, we’ve kept the small-brewery DNA we all hold dear.
Perpetual exploration
Our small-batch Scratch Series and 3-barrel Scratch Lab are where we do the work needed to understand the “why” at the intersection of ingredients, technique and flavor.
Local ingredients
We live and brew in fertile central PA, and we’re proud to support our local farmers. Every year, we buy more than 225,000 pounds of local grain, honey and fruit to use in our beer.
Community
From bike rides that fund local trails to new beers that help preserve critical forests, our partnerships improve the places where we live, work and play.
