Free Christmas Trees for Active and Retired Military


In 2010, the Firmani Family and the Gardeners’ Spot in Leominster, MA. Donated a few Christmas trees to some local vets and military families that had loved ones deployed. This event was an eye-opener for us, shedding light on a problem many face during the holiday season. We heard stories of military families on tight budgets, so thankful that they didn’t have to worry where the money for a tree was going to come from, seeing veterans and the wounded warriors come down, pick a tree, and see their faces when they were told “no charge”… it was heartwarming. We have continued to do “Trees for Soldiers” each year since, and it has grown exponentially.


Note: In addition to donating Christmas trees, we’ll also be offering trees for purchase for $50 during the event, with all proceeds going directly back to the Trees for Soldiers program.

Smuttynose Brewing Company, a New England craft brewery, was founded in 1994 and has its headquarters on the historic Towle Farm in Hampton, NH, which includes a restaurant, retail shop, and disc golf course. In early 2025, Smuttynose merged with Mass. Bay Brewing Co. to form Barrel One Collective, leading to its production equipment being sold off while the Hampton campus continues as the headquarters for the restaurant and events. Partnerships: Brews “Operation Delta Dog IPA,” with a portion of the proceeds going to support a non-profit organization that trains rescue dogs as service animals for veterans with PTSD
