Vanilla Ice Opening Brewery and Pop-Culture Museum in Lake Worth, Florida
Stop, collaborate and listen…Rob Van Winkle (aka Rapper Vanilla Ice) will be opening a new brewery and pop-culture museum in Lake Worth, Florida. The tentative name so far will be Vanilla Ice Brewery, but stay tuned for more on that coming soon. The brewery will be located at 1000 Lake Avenue in a 100-year-old building (built in 1927) near City Hall, and the building is recognized in the National Register of Historic Places (It was first known as the Gulfstream Lodge Scottish Rite Cathedral).
The new brewmaster is rumored to be coming from a Colorado brewery, and the brewery will initially contain seven fermentation tanks. On the drawing board since 2022, the brewery is on on schedule to finally open in 2026 according to Van Winkle. The brewery will feature a rooftop bar, a speakeasy, and even an outdoor space. If that’s not enough fun, the brewery will also feature a pop-culture museum on the 2nd floor which I suspect will highlight Vanilla Ice and his appearances on pop-culture shows like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
Stay tuned as I add updates as they become available.

About Vanilla Ice / Rob Van Winkle:
Vanilla Ice, whose real name is Robert Matthew Van Winkle, is an American rapper, actor, and television host known for his 1990 hit song “Ice Ice Baby,” which was the first hip-hop single to top the Billboard pop charts. Born in 1967, he achieved mainstream success early in his career but later faced criticism regarding his authenticity and commercial image. In addition to his music, he is known for his role in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze, his reality TV show The Vanilla Ice Project, and a subsequent career in real estate.
Music career
Debut and early success: Vanilla Ice released his debut album Hooked in 1989, which was re-released as To the Extreme in 1990 by SBK Records. The album was a massive success, largely due to the single “Ice Ice Baby,” which became a number-one hit and is credited with introducing hip-hop to a wider audience.
Controversies and decline: His rapid rise to fame led to criticism and accusations of lacking authenticity. SBK Records reportedly paid him to adopt a more commercial appearance and published false biographical information. His popularity waned after his second album, Mind Blowin’, which featured a significant image change.
Later albums and projects: Subsequent albums, such as Hard to Swallow and Platinum Underground, did not achieve commercial success. In 2009, he began hosting The Vanilla Ice Project on DIY Network.
Other ventures and activities
Acting and TV: He appeared as himself in the film Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze, improvising the song “Ninja Rap“. He has also appeared on other reality shows and television programs.
Real estate: Vanilla Ice has a successful career in real estate, focusing on flipping houses in the Palm Beach area. He is a licensed contractor and has attended design school to assist with his projects.
Personal life: He was married to Laura Giarritta, with whom he has two children. His early life was spent between Texas and Florida, and the nickname “Vanilla” was given to him by a breakdancing group because he was the only white member. He also has a known interest in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles memorabilia.
