An exciting new private Reserve membership club coming from Hill Farmstead called “Collected Works.”  From Hill Farmstead:

Hill Farmstead’s Collected Works

2013 Summer Edition

What is it?

The Collected Works is a private reserve membership.  For now, only a very limited amount of memberships are available.  For those lucky enough to acquire memberships, Hill Farmstead will reserve  1 (one) bottle of each of our upcoming barrel aged beer releases – totaling 12 (twelve) bottles (one bottle of each release).  Bottle sizes will vary, depending upon the release (375ml, 500ml, and 750ml).  Because we have many releases in the months ahead – Members will have the opportunity to choose some of the beers that they receive. See below.

Why are we doing this?

It is our intent to be able to help a small number of our customers by guaranteeing them access to these beers.  If you are able to visit us often, or live nearby, then this membership isn’t intended for you…

We can only offer a very minute amount of memberships because we have nearly no storage space.  We hope that this will change as we continue to add buildings.

How does it work?

Those wishing to join will follow the instructions below ("Where do I sign up?").  Hill Farmstead will store all 12 bottles at 35ºF from time of release until date of pick up.  All bottles must be retrieved at once – for the simplicity of our antiquated tracking methods.  Pick up date of bottles is the morning of Saturday, August 10th – which also happens to be our Festival of Farmhouse Ales – free admission to this event is included for members.  Members may appoint a trustee (of legal age) to retrieve bottles for them (which means the trustee will gain admission to the Festival).   Upon entrance into the Works, members will receive detailed instructions.

Membership includes the following:

  • 12 Bottles of Beer chosen (some by us, some by you…) from the following list of 15.(* = mandatory)
    • Biere de Norma. Our Biere de Mars.  *
    • Double Barrel Damon: 1 year in Port, 1 year in VW Bourbon.
    • Phenomenology of Spirit: Our Dark Saison.  This version was sent through our coolship and 100% spontaneously fermented. *
    • Spontaneously Fermented Ale.
    • Hill Farmstead/Jackie O’s/Crooked Stave: Release #1: Oud Bruin brewed with Ohio Walnuts. Aged 18+ months in assorted oak barrels.
    • Flora aged with Satsuma Mandarins
    • Flander’s (style) Red: Aged in Wine and Port barrels. Collaboration with Will Meyers from Cambridge Brewing Company.  Brewed in April of 2011.  *
    • Civil Disobedience #6: Blend of Art and our Favorite Belgian Lambics.
    • Flora: Wine barrel aged Wheat Saison.  *
    • Genealogy of Morals: Wheat/Coffee Imperial Stout, VW and BT barrels.  *
    • Damon: Russian Imperial Stout: Bourbon Versions. *
    • Damon: Russian Imperial Stout: Port Barrel Versions.
    • Everett: Bourbon Barrel Aged Treatments.
    • Civil Disobedience #7: Blend of oak aged Sankt Hans, Clara, and misc. barrels.
    • Madness and Civilization: TBA: Series of Blended Bourbon Barrel Imperial Stouts.
      • Any of these releases could be substituted if we feel that the quality of a different offering (ie, not listed here) is a better supplement/more representative.  For example, if a release is infected, or compromised, we will substitute it with another high(er) quality product.
      • Likely to expect more options than those listed above.
      • Email Correspondence, once you become a member, will determine the final contents of your box. 6 of the bottles are mandatory ( see -> * ), others will be member’s choice -  this allows the members to determine, for example, a stout or wild allocation…
      • It is entirely possible that some bottles not chosen as part of your ‘member allocation’ could be available for sale at the time of box retrieval…
  • nd Crafted Wooden Crate/Box: built of native wood by Darren Hill of Leaning Maples Woodcraft.  All beers will be delivered/presented in this box.
  • Automatic Right of first Refusal to the next round of Collected Works Entrance (admit 1) to the Festival of Farmhouse Ales on August 10th, 2013
  • Other assorted good things to be determined
  • What is the cost?

    $350

    Where do I sign up?

Memberships will be randomly chosen through a lottery system (names from a hat, to be precise).  Those wishing to join will need to send an email to [email protected] between the dates of 12am February 25 and 12am March 1.  Any emails sent before/after this date and time will be deleted.

Subject line must read: Hill Farmstead Collected Works Lottery Body
