Left Hand St Vrain Tripel Returns in 2013

The revival of Left Hand St. Vrain has come. For the first time in over 4 years, Left Hand’s Belgian Tripel is back for summer 2013! Named for the local river running alongside the brewery, St. Vrain is a true to style Belgian Tripel, light in color with a touch of Celelia hops and malt sweetness. But don’t be fooled… what at first appears benevolent can manifest into a mighty serpent in waiting. Further sips, reveal the warm spiciness and intoxicating nature hidden within. Things are not always what they seem.

The beer pours a brilliant gold with aromas of tropical fruit, spicy pepper, and bubble gum. Bottle conditioned for a truly monastic feel, St. Vrain bubbles effervescently with a fluffy white head. First sips open with light malt and a honey-like sweetness tempered by mint and peppery flavors, transitioning to herbal hoppy notes and a slightly nutty finish redolent of chestnuts. The finish is warming and dry, with a slight lingering bitterness.

Since the beer’s last release in 2009, the 2013 edition of St. Vrain features a label redesign in line with the rest of Left Hand Brewing portfolio. Playing off the drinkable yet deceitful high alcohol nature of the Belgian Tripel, the label brings to life the classic theme of good vs. evil. The St. Vrain river alongside the brewery is illustrated, as well as the face of Ceran St. Vrain himself – a regional 17th Century fur trader. Available in of Left Hand’s 27 state distribution, St. Vrain will be packaged in 22 oz bottles and kegs.
