Long Trail Replaces Bear With Hiker On New Packaging

Well, it finally happened. We knew the day would come that our beloved bears would sleep past their springtime alarm and not wake up in time for their appearance on our seasonal labels. Or did somebody drink a few too many Hibernators by the fire? Either way, it looks like this is the last straw as their endless slumber cost them their jobs this time. 

Yes, we’ve replaced those hibernating honey-suckers with a fresh take on our branding. While they were sound asleep, we were hard at work sprucing up the bottle labels and packaging art.

In celebration of our silver anniversary, we’ve designed these new-look labels to evoke the journey completed and the trek ahead as we embark on our 25th year. The bottles have changed a bit, but it’s still the same liquid that’s made us Vermont’s best selling craft brewery since 1989. 

Keeping with the seasonal talk–

saison-al, that is– our latest Brush & Barrel Series offering is now pouring at the Visitor Center and beyond. 

True to traditional Belgian farmhouse ales, Saison was created in the dead of winter for consumption in the warmer months to come– at least we’re hoping they come. At 7.1% ABV, Saison’s fruity, estery profile comes from the use of Belgian yeast and is complemented by a spicy hop aroma. 

We’ve teamed up with Vermont artist Carol Boucherwhose painting (pictured, left) portrays the fusion of the traditional Belgian brewing style with the rustic beauty of rural Vermont. Brewed first for seasonal workers in the French-speaking region of Belgium, Saison – French for season- was often the catalyst for evenings of merriment that accompanied a hard day’s work. Raise a glass and let this brew guide you through an evening of revelry. Don’t take my word for it, though– see for yourself and look for it on draught and in 22oz. bombers now.

WHAT’S BREWING…

On the heels of Saison, our brewers have spread their European influence to the latest Brown Bag Series release. Batch #9, Hefeweizen, is a classic unfiltered German-style hefeweizen that features aromas of clove and banana derived from the traditional yeast-strain we used in the brewing process.

Cloudy in appearance, this brew features a significant head that, when poured into a traditional Weizen glass, can be one sexy looking beer. 

Look for it on tap at select bars or visit us in Bridgewater Corners where we’ll be selling it on draught, in growlers and, for the first time, in 12oz. bottles exclusive to the brewery.

Speaking of cloudy, our new summer seasonal, Mostly Cloudy is a Belgian Witbier based off  last year’sBelgian White recipe. Expect a more refined, true-to-style interpretation in this rebranded brew.
