The Bruery – Anniversary, Archiversary, Pilot Releases & Beer Geek Catnip

The clouds are parting (sort of) – meaning, a number of beers that premiered last weekend at our 8th Anniversary Festival will be making their way to you. We begin today with Parting Clouds, our Vermont-style pale ale. It’s joined by another hoppy treat: Enigma SMaSH – a single malt, single hop beer featuring (you guessed it…) Enigma hops. As is the case with most pilot releases, these beers are also available for growler fills.

On Friday, to finish up the second and final week of our Archiversary sale, we’ll have bottles of Smoking Wood Rye and Smoking Wood Bourbon – both from 2014 – go on sale to the public when we open at noon.

On Monday, we conjure up some nostalgia with two more pilot releases. The first is a new pilot batch of Orchard White, a Belgian-style wit beer with lavender, which was first released in 2008 and premiered last weekend as well. The second hearkens back to memories of spiced Belgian-style shortbread cookies, known as speculoos. We took the crunch out of the cookie and made it as smooth as possible. It’s not exactly as creamy as cookie butter but it does come close on nitro. Come try Speculoos on Nitro starting Monday.

On Friday, we have a special cask prepared for you by one of our longtime Bruers, Matt O. He’s moving on, but before he goes, he’s concocted a tasteful parting shot to make a lasting impression: Beer Geek Catnip. This beer begins with the base beer featured in Share This: Coffee (an imperial stout) and then piles it on from there with coconut, coffee, cinnamon and vanilla. Thanks a latte, Matt!

Mark your calendars: one week from today, Thursday, May 26, join us for a celebration and toast to our summer seasonal, Trade Winds, our Belgian-style tripel brewed with rice and Thai basil. When you see Trade Winds on TheBrueryStore.com, in the Tasting Room and at your favorite shop, be sure to grab it up, as the 2016 summer season will be its last. Our event next week, Gone with the Trade Winds, will feature the classic release from 2016 plus a number of specialty treatments.
