Dick Cantwell is a brewing legend, so when he decided to brew his first post-Elysian acquisition beer in our pilot brewery, we were obviously excited. Cantwell worked with our pilot brewers on this year’s version of Ales for ALS, a charity brew that benefits research on ALS (commonly known as Lou Gehrig’s disease).
We caught up with Cantwell to chat the beer and his new book — "Wood & Beer: A Brewer’s Guide" — which he co-authored with New Belgium Brewmaster Peter Bouckaert.
