Dry Dock Releases 2016 Imperial Stout; Announces Remaining Beers in the 2016 Signature Series

AURORA, CO— Dry Dock Brewing Company’s 2016 batch of the Signature Series Imperial Stout is now available on draft and in bombers. This beer was first brewed at Dry Dock in 2012, and was bottled for the first time in 2014 as part of the brewery’s Signature Series of small-batch, barrel-aged imperial and double beers. Imperial Stout is the second of six 2016 Signature Series beers. The first of this year’s series, whiskey barrel-aged Double Apricot Blonde, is already sold out for the season.

Imperial Stout is now available on draft and in bombers at North Dock, and will be available at South Dock on Friday, September 2 at 12pm. It will also be available on draft at select bars and restaurants, as well as in bombers in limited quantities at liquor stores across the state. Less than 200 cases of each Signature Series beer are distributed in Colorado only. 

“Dry Dock Signature Series beers are the brewers’ playground,” says North Dock Head Brewer Alan Simons. “They’re also testers of our patience. My favorite part of the process?? Tasting of course! We’re lucky enough to have access to excellent whiskey barrels in order to age these exceptional and ever-changing beers.”

2016 SIGNATURE SERIES BEERS

Imperial Stout
10% ABV, 50 IBU

A robust imperial stout with pronounced roasted bitterness that is balanced by chocolate undertones and a dark fruit backbone. This velvety textured beer ages in whiskey barrels for 11 months, adding vanilla and coconut nuances to its flavor and aroma.

Double Vanilla Porter
10.5% ABV, 20 IBU
releases September 2016

Dry Dock’s classic Vanilla Porter recipe, amplified. This beer has a dark chocolate essence with hints of dark fruit and subtle smoke. Big-bodied and creamy, Double Vanilla Porter is a strong ale that takes on whiskey and oak aromas from the barrels it ages in, and finishes surprisingly dry for a beer of its brawn.

Raspberry Imperial Stout
10% ABV, 50 IBU

A fresh take on our classic Imperial Stout. Rich raspberries added to this robust barrel aged beer amplify its dark fruit backbone for a taste as decadent as a chocolate raspberry cordial. 

Hazelnut Double Coffee Porter
10.5% ABV, 30 IBU

Bright, fruit-forward coffee is mixed with luscious hazelnut in our barrel aged Double Porter to create this brilliant taste experience that melds dark chocolate nuances, nuttiness, and gentle coffee acidity. 

Bligh’s Barleywine Ale

Malty and complex, this big beer has a strong caramel backbone supporting oak and whiskey flavors with hints of dark fruits. The nose wafts of coconut, toffee, and a smooth hint of alcohol.
