This December, Liquid Projects, LLC will debut the Reinheits Boten, a group of five trend-setting German craft breweries, in Philadelphia, Rhode Island and New York. The portfolio includes Distelhäuser, Zoller-Hof, Friedenfelser Brauerei, Riedenburger Brauhaus and Himburgs Braukunst Keller. Liquid Projects’ owner and founder, Lars Dahlhaus, will bring these to the United States for the first time, working independently, with the support of MHW, a nationally-licensed importer and distributor. On December 28, Dahlhaus will host a launch party for the Reinheits Boten starting at 6 p.m. at Brauhaus Schmitz in Philadelphia.

In early 2017, Dahlhaus plans to expand the Reinheits Boten further into American markets, including Massachusetts, Florida, Connecticut and California. Liquid Projects is also working with two famed brands in Ireland: Porterhouse Brewing Company and Dingle Distillery.

Using a ground-breaking new approach to importing beer in the United States, Dahlhaus has unified five breweries under one name. Each member of the Reinheits Boten will retain their identity as an independent craft brewery, and Liquid Projects will provide them all with the marketing and sales support they need to thrive in the American marketplace. Traditionally, foreign breweries have been asked to sign lengthy, non-negotiable contracts with importers. Liquid Projects, in conjunction with wholesalers Sarene Craft Beer Distributors (New York), Best Beverage (Rhode Island) and Origlio Beverage (Philadelphia), will serve as a friendly broker and strong voice for these artisanal European brands.

“Our goal is to bring the highest quality German craft beers to the American beer fan,” says Dahlhaus, who has spent 13-plus years working in the United States and Europe as a brand ambassador. “Liquid Projects, LLC will guide every step of the importation process, promotion and marketing, and we work solely on commission, incentivizing us to sell the beers that we introduce.”

The name Reinheits Boten is derived from Reinheitsgebot, or the German Purity Law of 1516, which celebrated its 500th anniversary last April. The law aims to preserve centuries-old brewing traditions by limiting German brewers to four main ingredients: hops, barley, water and yeast. All five Reinheits Boten brands adhere to these strict guidelines as established, in accordance with Bavarian law.

Liquid Projects will introduce the following five German craft breweries starting December 1:

imageDistelhäuser

Established in 1811 and located on the banks of the river Tauber, Distelhäuser is a sixth-generation German brewery rich in tradition and regional character. Since 1876, the Bauer Family has been using trusted recipes and brewing methods, while serving their community and enhancing the region’s beer diversity. In 2009 and 2014, Distelhäuser was named Brewery of the Year by the German Agricultural Society (DLG).

The Reinheits Boten will include the following Distelhäuser beers:

· Pilsener, an award-winning take on the classic German style

· Landbier, a dark lager beer.

· Kellerbier, an unfiltered top-fermented ale

· Hefe Weizen, an award-winning take on the classic German style

· Lemon Radler (Shandy), a refreshing low ABV mix of lemonade and lager beer

Zoller-Hof

Sixth-generation owner Claudia Sieben upholds Zoller-Hof’s proud 165-year brewing history and adheres to the highest standards of German brewing culture. The brewery uses only the finest grains, obtaining 100 percent of their barley and wheat from the Tettnang region. In 2011, Zoller-Hof’s Hefeweizen earned the coveted Crystal Award, the highest distinction of “Superior Taste Award,” for three consecutive years.

The Reinheits Boten will include the following Zoller-Hof beers:

· Zwickel, an unfiltered pale lager

· Pale Doppelbock, weighing in at 8.5% ABV, and taking more than 50 weeks to ferment

· Old Fred, an homage to Frederick Miller, the founder of Miller Brewing Company; Miller received his brewing degree from the King of the Hohenzollern in Sigmaringen, where Zoller-Hof is located today

Friedenfelser

Since 1886, Friedenfelser has been using pristine spring water from Steinwald Nature Park and all-natural ingredients from their on-premise farm to brew their award-winning beers. Friedenfelser requires ongoing quality checks and postgraduate training for all members of their staff, to ensure the most precise brewing methods are maintained. Their highly sought-after beers have earned awards in several international competitions, including the DLG Gold Awards, the World Beer Cup and the European Beer Star.

The Reinheits Boten will include the following Friedenfelser beers:

· Hefe Weizen, a 2014 World Beer Cup winner in the Hefeweizen category

· Steinwald Zoigl, an unfiltered amber-colored lager native only to this region in North East Bavaria

· Organic Zoigl, strictly organic ingredients are used in this rendition of their Zoigl beers

· Natural Radler (Shandy), a naturally unfiltered radler; lemon soda mixed with Pilsener

Braukunst Keller

Since 2013, owner Alexander Himburg has been at the forefront of the craft beer revolution in Germany, applying American methods to his flavorful beers while protecting the German Purity Law of 1516. Braukunst Keller’s natural beers are layered with aromatic hops, special malts and soft water from the Bavarian Forest. The brewery’s Amarsi IPA, an American-style double IPA, has earned critical praise and international awards.

The Reinheits Boten will include the following Braukunst Keller beers:

· Bavarian, a dry-hopped Helles lager using Citra, Simcoe and Hallertau hops

· Amarsi, a bold double IPA with Amarillo and Simcoe hops weighing in at a hefty 8.1% ABV

· Mandarina,  a hoppy German-style IPA brewed with Mandarina Bavaria, Huell and Cascade hops

· Laguna, a classic India Pale Ale brewed with blonde and dark golden malts, spiked with pine and fruit

· Pale Ale, a beautifully-balanced pale ale with fruity citrus hops (Citra, Cascade, Amarillo)

Riedenburger

Founded in 1866, Riedenburger relies on ancient recipes passed down from their ancestors to brew hand-crafted beers using local, artisanal and organic ingredients. Fourth-generation owner Michael Krieger has developed a “Bronze Principle,” making quality the top priority and creating an eco-socially corporate philosophy. Riedenburger’s sustainability efforts have been recognized by Germany’s Minister of Agriculture.

The Reinheits Boten will include the following Riedenburger beers:

· Pilsener, an unfiltered take on the classic German style

· EMMER Wheat Beer, a historic amber-colored beer that uses ancient grains (50% emmer malt, einkorn, spelt, barley, wheat malt)
