Dogfish Head Launches Minnesota Distribution

And just like that … our off-centered ales are heading to the Twin Cities beginning March 27! 

“We’re excited about teaming up with Breakthru Beverage, a family owned company that shares the same commitment to quality and as we do at Dogfish Head,” says Dogfish founder and CEO Sam Calagione. “We have our new canning line pumping out beer & enough brewing capacity to ensure we can keep retailers well stocked with our off-centered, well-differentiated family of beers,” says Sam. “So, are we ecstatic that Dogfish Head fans from Minnesota can finally enjoy their favorite brews in their home state? You betcha!”

We’ve worked hard in 2016 to establish the ideal groundwork for a successful, forward-looking expansion plan to Minnesota and beyond, and we’ve tripled the size of our sales team to assist us in growing and supporting our current footprint.

Dogfish fans in the Land of 10,000 Lakes can expect to enjoy a full line-up of our iconic brews, including 90 Minute IPA, Namaste White, Indian Brown, 60  Minute IPA, SeaQuench Ale, Flesh & Blood IPA, Palo Santo Marron, Burton Baton, Midas Touch, and seasonal releases. Limited quantities of specialty beers and occasional rarities will also be available throughout the year. 

In addition to our arrival in Minnesota, we’re also planning to expand into at least three additional new markets in the coming year – Missouri, Alabama and West Virginia – bringing Dogfish Head’s total beer market availability to 35 states and Washington D.C.

The roasty malt profile of Indian Brown provides a nice complement to the meaty flavors in the Hotdish, and the moderately bitter finish acts as a perfect counterbalance to the deliciously creamy soup base. 

– The next time you order a basket of scrumptious tater tots, be sure to reach for a 60 Minute IPA, a fan-favorite, Dogfish Head continually hopped India pale ale. Whether your tots are served plain, dipped in ketchup, or covered with cheese curds and gravy, this east coast IPA’s prominent hop profile is a great match for the crispy, crunchy potato side dish.
