3rd Wave Brewing Set to Release First 16-Ounce Can 6/24: Bombora / Kohola Bottles

Delmar, DE – 3^rd Wave Brewing will release its first 16-ounce can on June 24^th.

With the addition of a Wild Good Canning Line to the brewery in May, 3^rd Wave has gained the ability to release a wide variety of package sizes. They will debut their 16-ounce cans with a variation of Bombora, their double IPA. Only 50 cases will be available.

Bombora is 8.5% ABV and 87 IBUs. In contrast with their traditional Bombora recipe, the 16-ounce can will be dry hopped with Simcoe and Citra Lupulin Powder. Warrior hops bitter the beer and Centennial and Cascade provide flavor and aroma.

Head Brewer John Panasiewicz stated, “Bombora is my baby. I’ve been tweaking the recipe since the brewery opened in 2012 and I’m excited to introduce our 16-ounce cans than with this fan-favorite brew.”

Cans will be released on June 24^th at 10am at 3^rd Wave Brewing in Delmar, Delaware. They are available while supplies last.

Delmar, DE – 3^rd Wave Brewing will release “Kohola”, a Chardonnay barrel aged, dry hopped, Belgian Pale Ale with Brettanomyces, on June 24^th.

Kohola was inspired by Head Brewer John Panasiewicz’s love of soured ales and an empty Chardonnay barrel. 4.5% ABV, this Belgian Ale aged in barrels with Brettanomyces Bruxellensis for 24 months. After barreling, Panasiewicz dry hopped the beer with Idaho 7 hops, which created a layer of tropical bitterness.

Panasiewicz stated, “We particularly enjoy barrel aging beers because it’s exciting to see what flavors the beer picks up. The yeast goes crazy when it’s exposed to the barreling environment.”

100 bottles will be available on June 24^th at 10am at 3^rd Wave Brewing in Delmar, Delaware. They are available while supplies last.
