Mybeerbuzz .com Highlights PaMu Quiet Earbuds (Review)

If you’ve been following along on mybeerbuzz.com, you already know that I test-drive more than just beer.  I cover everything from hiking and athletic gear to personal care and electronics.  You may or may not also remember that I’m a 25-mile/week avid runner, and I run 5-days a week with music.

If there’s one thing I’ve learned when I’m running, it’s that the tiniest little thing that bothers or annoys you, becomes a really big issue after dealing with it for miles and miles.  Because I run with music from my iPod, my choice of earbuds has become one of my most important running decisions, perhaps second only to shoes…so read on for my new favorite.

Today we’re trying out a new concept in earbuds called the PaMu Quiet.  These earbuds are the world’s first dual-chip (QCC5124, AMS3460) ANC earphones, they are lightweight (5.1g) and they are IPX4 water resistant. They also feature wireless charging and a really nice leather zinc alloy case. The case is sturdy and it remind me of a pocket watch with how it clicks open.  There is also a larger outer zip closure soft case with an attached cord/carabiner to hold your earbuds, the case, cables and more.

I always start testing earbuds with what I think is the most important criteria…fit.  After all, if the buds don’t stay in your ears, especially when running, then nothing else matters.  The PaMu Quiet earbuds fit nicely in my ears and they felt snug, lightweight and comfortable. They do come with three different sized ear cones for the perfect fit. I launched them right into a 3-mile run on day-one, and not once over the course of the run did I feel like they were loose or going to pop out.  After the full run, the earbuds still felt comfortable with no irritation or sore spots. These are really snug, secure, and comfortable earbuds.

The PaMu Quiet earbuds paired easily to my iPod nano, so next up is the sound quality testing.  I tried out the earbuds sitting still and running and in both cases the PaMu Quiet delivered strong base and bright treble with little distortion and little interference from outside noise (thanks in part to their amazing ANC system.)  Traffic and wind noises were much less prominent and the overall sound level was very good.  The available volume levels were really good and the Bluetooth connection remained solid even while running and moving my head. I have to say the ANC (Automatic Noise Cancelling) technology in these earbuds is amazing. The PaMu Quiet combines feedback and feed-forward systems for really effective noise cancelling performance (40 dB).
The battery life of the PaMu Quiet was very good and it lasted about 4 or 5 runs for me and I average about an hour per run.  This included running and cool down as well as some additional stretching before and after.  This is about perfect for me as I only want to charge my earbuds once a week or less. The storage and charging case is amazing and I really loved the blue charging light on the case.

Overall the PaMu Quiet earbuds worked really well and provided great noise cancellation and great base and treble audio.  Charging the unit was easy and the battery life was lengthy enough for several long runs and then some. 

Overall the PaMu Quiet earbuds are my new favorite earbuds and I’ve already put over 20-miles on them. The sound is amazing, the noise canceling really makes for a better music experience, and they are really comfortable and secure.
