Today brings a first look at a brand‑new year‑round offering from Yards Brewing Company in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The brewery is preparing to launch Philly Standard Lager, a crisp, easy‑drinking beer proudly billed as “Made By Phila.” This new 2026 lager is designed as a clean, approachable everyday option for drinkers who want a classic, sessionable beer with local character.

Philly Standard Lager will land at a highly drinkable 4.2% ABV, making it a true “standard” for tailgates, backyard hangs, and citywide celebrations. Yards Brewing has long been known for crafting beers that reflect the spirit of Philadelphia, and this new lager aims to become a staple in the city’s beer scene, simple, refreshing, and unmistakably local.

The beer will be packaged in 12‑oz cans, showcasing the brewery’s signature Philly‑forward branding. Expect wide distribution throughout the region as Yards positions Philly Standard Lager as a go‑to option for fans of straightforward, well‑crafted American lagers.

Stay tuned for full 2026 release details, distribution updates, and tasting notes as Yards Brewing gets closer to officially rolling out Philly Standard Lager.

How it all began
Back in the late ’80s, two college buds Tom and Jon, decided to brew some beer for their friends. Whether it was natural talent or the endless supply of suds, people liked what they tasted and wanted more. They didn’t know it at the time, but this was the beginning of what was to become Yards Brewing Company.

Where we are now
Yards has been brewing Philly’s beer since 1994. We’ve grown from a garage-sized operation in Manayunk all the way up to our current location at 500 Spring Garden Street in Northern Liberties. And we couldn’t have done it without your support through the years. Our beers always have and always will be brewed, bottled, kegged, and canned for the hard working people of Philadelphia and beyond.

Why we do it
Our founder, Tom Kehoe, and the Yards Crew share a commitment to supporting the good people and organizations making our backyard a better place to live and work. Here at Yards, it’s always been about working hard, having fun, and giving back. Our Brew Unto Others motto reflects our commitment to quality, community, and sustainability. It’s also a call-to-action. We encourage you to get together, to enjoy our beer, each other’s company, and to Brew Unto Others every day.
