The Veil Releasing Funkhaüst11/24, Never Backdown & Frozen Frozen Ocean Ocean (11/14)The Veil Releasing Funkhaüst11/24, Never Backdown & Frozen Frozen Ocean Ocean (11/14)From The Veil:

Next Friday November 24th(Black Friday) at our first annual Dark Daze event we will be releasing the first offering from our Funkhaüst.

The first offering will be Vermicious Knid. Vermicious Knid starts off as Hornswoggler fermented in a stainless steel fermenter. Then we transferred Horns into freshly dumped red wine French oak barrels and brought the barrels over to our Funkhaüst. We then inoculated the barrels with a mixed culture of wild yeasts and bacteria. Vermicious Knid spent 15 months conditioning and developing complexity in the barrels. We then bottled the beer with a small amount of yeast and priming sugar and allowed the bottles to referment/condition for another 2.5 months. The results are incredible! Clocking in at 8.4%, Vermicious Knid displays restrained and elegant tartness, a luscious full body, vinous similarities, beautiful integration of oak tannins, dry cocoa powder, ripe dark fruit, and bright, zippy coffee. The best way to describe Vermicious Knid is a slightly tart Cabernet crossed with a cocoa/dark fruit forward full bodied stout. We intentionally carbonated this one on the lower side as we were so in love with the beer straight from the barrel. It is not still, but it is close and we love it that way. Picture a sample being drawn directly from the barrel for you to truly get the full experience of Vermicious Knid.

There will be approximately 1800-1900x 750ml bottles available on Dark Daze~Friday November 24th when we open doors at 12pm. There will be a 4x bottle per person limit that we do not intend on changing. Each bottle will be $18+tax.

We will also be releasing 10x 1.5L magnums of Vermicious Knid. First come, first served. 1x magnum per person. Each magnum will be $55+tax.

All of our wild/funky/tart bottles from our Funkhaüst will be corked and capped. We will begin selling our branded wine key/corkscrew(see a few posts back) at Dark Daze also. They will be $5+tax. No limit. They will be up on our webstore the following Monday November 27th beginning at 12pm EST.

Vermicious Knid will also be available on Dark Daze on draft with very limited availability.

We’re thrilled to begin releasing these beers and hope you enjoy them as much as we do. For more information about Dark Daze, check out the Facebook event page here:
