Fuller’s Introduces Fuller’s & Friends Collaboration ProjectExciting collaboration news from Fuller’s:

We’ve been brewing something extra special lately…
We are incredibly proud to officially announce the Fuller’s & Friends collaboration project.
We’ve teamed up with six of our favourite regional breweries to create a uniquely delicious and innovative selection of bottled beers.

We invited brewers from Cloudwater Brew Company, Fourpure Brewing Company, Hardknott Brewery, Marble Beers Limited, Moor Beer Company and Thornbridge Brewery to pair up with six of our own brewers to each create a style of beer that celebrates the flavours, styles and names that they each enjoy the most.
This has resulted in six incredibly different and delicious new brews:
New England IPA – Cloudwater, Manchester:
New England IPA – 7% ABV
We’ve used oats, wheat and a mountain of hops – Chinook and Simcoe from the US and Olicana from the UK – to make a soft, juicy New England IPA. We’ve then bottle conditioned it, old-England style.

Galleon – Fourpure, Bermondsey, London:
Dry Hopped Lager- 4.8% ABV
We’ve used lashings of Loral, a modern American hop, to give Galleon its unique character. There’s bucket-loads of floral, citrus and delicious dark-fruit flavour in this crisp, refreshing lager. Dry-hopped for extra punch.

Peat Souper – Hardknott, Cumbria:
Smoked Porter – 7% ABV
Named after the thick fogs that bedevilled industrial London, this delicious dark beer takes inspiration from the capital’s 18th-century Porters. Smoky peat, rich malt and a trio of classic English hops make it one to savour.

Matariki – Marble, Manchester:
New Zealand Saison – 5.8% ABV
Belgium meets New Zealand in this zesty, spicy ale. Using wheat, oats, rye and spelt alongside a quartet of Kiwi hops, we’ve created a beer that’s both complex and very, very drinkable.

Rebirth – Moor, Bristol:
ESB- 6% ABV
Inspired by the very first ESB recipe, we’ve used hops from Britain, Australia, Slovenia and the USA to create a rich, complex, delicious ale. The original ESB from 1971, reborn.

Flora & The Griffin – Thornbridge, Derbyshire:
Red Rye Ale – 7.1% ABV
This punchy red ale is made with a diverse range of ingredients including spicy rye malt and bold, floral American hops. A beer named after the symbols of both breweries, Flora and The Griffin.

Our Global Ambassador, John Keeling, said:

Collaboration is not just about agreeing a recipe then brewing a beer, it is a great way to make friends. So Georgina and I asked Rob at Thornbridge, Dave at Hardknott, Dan at Fourpure, Justin at Moor, James at Cloudwater and JK at Marble to get involved. What better way to get the team at Fuller’s to experience the full meaning of collaboration than for them to work with these great brewers?
The levels of enthusiasm and creativity in our first meeting was so inspiring and it did not take long for recipes and trial brews to follow. I am looking forward to tasting all the final brews and to continue the legacy of Fuller’s and Friends with other brewers in the future.

Each beer was piloted at the collaborators’ brewery, before the perfected recipe was brewed here in Chiswick at the famous Griffin Brewery.
The six beers will be packaged together and stocked exclusively by Waitrose, in time for Christmas.

UPDATE 1 Nov 2017:

Our innovative and incredibly tasty collaboration six-pack hits shelves in mid-November, so we’re showcasing the beers with a tour of our regional friends.

Beer is best enjoyed with friends, so we invited Cloudwater Brew Company, Fourpure Brewing Company, Hardknott Brewery, Marble Beers Limited, Moor Beer Company and Thornbridge Brewery down to Fuller’s for a very special collaboration.
We let our imaginations run wild, drawing inspiration from the USA, New Zealand and our own rich traditions.
The result is a family of bottle conditioned beers that are as diverse and delicious as anything you’ll find in the world of brewing. So, to celebrate their launch, we’re hosting beer lovers in a series of events in the cities our friends brew in.

Hardknott – Wednesday 8th November, Birmingham:
Taking its name from the notorious Hardknott Pass in Cumbria,
Hardknott‘s beers take influences from around the world. The Peat Souper smoked porter we’ve brewed draws on the capital’s history of smoky, rich porters and uses a trio of classic British hops.

Facebook event here.
Marble & Cloudwater – Tuesday 14th November, Manchester:
Marble have driven British beer culture forward since the late 1990s, having started life in the back of the Marble Arch pub. Our New Zealand Saison combines the Belgian style with antipodean ingredients for a complex but drinkable beer.
Cloudwater has become one of the most talked about breweries in its three years – it was voted fifth-best brewery in the world in last year’s Ratebeer awards. US and UK hops make a soft, juicy New England IPA, bottle conditioned old-England style.

Facebook event here.
Thornbridge – Wednesday 15th November, Sheffield:
Since its founding in 2005,
Thornbridge has  had a huge impact on British brewing. Brewing in Bakewell, quality and flavour go hand-in-hand. A punchy red ale, Flora And The Griffin uses a diverse range of ingredients including spicy rye malt and American hops.

Facebook event here.
Moor Beer – Thursday 16th November, Bristol:
Moor Beer brings together the best of British, American and German brewing traditions, and are based in Bristol after having been founded on the Somerset Levels. Our original, 1971 ESB recipe has been reborn, using hops form Britain, Australia, the USA and Slovenia.

Facebook event here.
Fourpure – Friday 17th November, Bermondsey, London:
Fourpure is one of London’s most dynamic new breweries, producing nimble and progressive brews inspired by New York, Munich and beyond. We’ve dry hopped our Galleon lager with lashings of Loral, to create a floral, citrus beer packed with punch.

Our Global Ambassador, John Keeling, said:

It was a privilege to welcome these six great brewers to Fuller’s. Collaborating like this is hugely valuable because you end up with not only great beer, but great friends too.
I can’t wait to see what drinkers make of our beers.

Fuller’s  is family-owned and proudly independent, and we’ve been brewing at the historic Griffin Brewery in Chiswick since 1845.
World-famous for our stable of award-winning ales, we’ve played a key role in nurturing London’s booming craft-beer culture.
The launch of Fuller’s & Friends shows our dedication to brewing brilliant new beers and supporting the best of Britain’s independent breweries.
