Creature Comforts Releasing Warm Warmer Disco, The Tree That Owns Itself, Connected Like A Quilt & Hopfen! Hopfen!
Today, I have some exciting Curious Collection release news coming from Creature Comforts Brewing in Athens, Georgia:
DECEMBER 5
WARM WARMER DISCO
DDH WEST COAST IPA | 8.0%
As an homage to a classic LA film, we have a new west coast IPA coming your way in “two shakes of a lamb’s tail.” Absolutely loaded to the gils with Mosaic, Columbus, and some of our other favorite hops, so you’ll be ready to shake your rump at Jack Rabbit Slims!

THE TREE THAT OWNS ITSELF
BARREL-AGED BARLEYWINE | 13.0%
A bourbon barrel-aged English-style Barleywine named as a tribute to an admired landmark in our community of Athens, GA. The story goes that the tree’s owner, desiring to protect it, deeded the ownership of the tree and surrounding land to itself. In honor of the local legend dating back to the 1800s, we brewed this Barleywine, which aged 23 months in Willet bourbon barrels. We set out to achieve a sublime expression of malt flavors, using a traditional English barley base, all English ingredients, a long boil, and extended maturation in select small batch bourbon barrels. The Tree That Owns Itself is fruity, rich, decadent, and complex with rich caramel, molasses, toffee, and brown sugar notes.

CONNECTED LIKE A QUILT
SCOTCH ALE | 6.0%
Our take on the classic Scotch ale, inspired by the malty ales of Edinburgh and made in our downtown Athens taproom! This is a malty and rich beer, perfect to accompany the colder months. Connected Like a Quilt is a name inspired by humanity and human connection. We are all our own little patchwork, with individual lives and character, but when we come together we are stronger, unified, and beautiful.
DECEMBER 19
HOPFEN! HOPFEN! (hops! hops!)
GERMAN PILSNER | 5.1%
All over the world, hops are adored by brewers. In the US we made the IPA to highlight our favorite little plant, and in Germany they have the mighty pilsner. The pilsner is a lager that showcases hops- a refined vision of the style incorporating the learnings from the last 12 years of our lager brewing. We use continental European hops for those wonderfully herbaceous, grassy, and light floral notes that pair so well with European malts. A symphony of simplicity yielding endless drinkability.
