Tröegs Announces the Return of Leaf Seeker West Coast-Style IPA

HERSHEY, PA – Tröegs Independent Brewing announces the release of Leaf Seeker West Coast-style IPA. The beer returns to the brewery’s lineup of seasonally rotating IPAs featuring favorites like Field Study and Blizzard of Hops.

Leaf Seeker takes cues from the bold, hop-forward beers that emerged in the early days of the American craft beer movement. Of course, Tröegs is no stranger to this beer style, as its Perpetual IPA continues to rank as the best-selling craft brand in the brewery’s home state of Pennsylvania.

“West Coast IPAs have been experiencing a renaissance of sorts over the last few years,” explains Tröegs co-founding brother and brewmaster John Trogner. “With Leaf Seeker, we wanted to connect the dots between those big, hoppy IPAs from California and Colorado with our own East Coast culture.”

Like many of Tröegs’ beers, Leaf Seeker began in the hop fields of the Pacific Northwest’s Yakima Valley.

“We visit Yakima Valley every year to source the right hops for our beers,” says Trogner. “To me, it’s the most important ingredient selection we do. We have a lot of hop-forward beers, so the stakes are high.”

For Leaf Seeker, hand-picked Citra, Chinook, and El Dorado hops combine to infuse the beer with notes of sticky citrus, dank pine, and tropical fruit.

Balanced by a backbone of pilsner and Vienna malts, Leaf Seeker clocks in at 6.4% ABV and has just the right amount of bitterness for peak peeping when autumn emerges.

Leaf Seeker West Coast-style IPA is available on draft and in 12-oz. bottles and cans across the brewery’s entire distribution footprint.  

Leaf Seeker is also included in the current Perpetual Exploration seasonally rotating variety pack for fall. Each 12-pack features the seasonal IPA alongside Perpetual IPA, Graffiti Highway IPA, and the forthcoming Oktoberfest Lager.
