BOULDER, Colo. (August 3, 2023) — Fans of Boulder-based Upslope Brewing Company can look forward to enjoying two new styles at the end of summer: Double West Coast Style IPA and Passionfruit Hibiscus Sour Ale.

A new variation of their West Coast Style IPA, Double West Coast Style IPA is big and bold and is debuting in a 19.2 oz can. Upslope added West Coast Style IPA to their year-round lineup in 2023, seeing a demand for a classic IPA brewed with Pacific Northwest hops. Following the success of this 6.5% ABV beer, Upslope took that innovation one step further and doubled down with Double West Coast Style IPA weighing in at 9% ABV.

Double West Coast Style IPA pours a brilliantly clear, pale gold color and is dripping with aromas of Douglas fir, ripe citrus fruit and firm bitterness.

Our West Coast Style IPA has been turned up to eleven with the most expressive hops we could get our hands on,” said Head Brewer Alex Meyer. “The finish [of Double West Coast Style IPA] is nice and dry, making this heavyweight beer light on its feet.”

Upslope’s Double West Coast Style IPA will be available on draft and in 19.2oz cans at Upslope’s two Boulder tap rooms and across Upslope’s distribution region of the Rocky Mountains, Midwest, and southern United States.

Additionally, Upslope is excited to introduce the newest limited release in the Fruited Sour Series: Passionfruit Hibiscus Sour Ale.

Passionfruit Hibiscus Sour Ale is the third installment in the Fruited Sour Series, preceded by Blackberry Lemon Sour Ale in the winter and Mango Lime Sour Ale through the spring and summer. Consumers can expect yet another refreshing and puckering sour as the temperatures cool with Passionfruit Hibiscus Sour Ale.

Passionfruit Hibiscus Sour Ale is a vibrant, ruby beer bursting with tropical passionfruit notes and a pleasantly tart finish. Sitting at 4.5% ABV, this new sour is the perfect pairing for light summery dishes such as coconut rice, almond-crusted whitefish and vanilla ice cream.

Our newest beer in the Fruited Sour Series utilizes a personal favorite fruit that brings a ton of juicy, tropical flavor,” said Head Brewer Alex Meyer. “Passionfruit adds a pleasant tartness that is accompanied by the beautiful color of the hibiscus and just the right amount of sweetness.
