Dogfish Head: Weekend of Compelling Ales & Spirits is almost here, and with a new collab on the horizon, it’s a-boat time

From Dogfish Head:

30 years of brewing off-centered ales, nearly 50 years of premium-crafted outerwear by Boathouse Sports, and one weekend to celebrate it all?! You better believe this year’s Weekend of Compelling Ales & Spirits (WOCAAS), happening Mar. 21 – 23, will be no oar-dinary event … and you won’t want to miss this one!

Oh ship! Did we say Boathouse Sports?!

Sure did! To celebrate brewing since ‘95, we’re honoring our legacy of continual hops by doing continual drops of exclusive merch EVERY. SINGLE. MONTH! This month, we teamed up with the crew from Boathouse Sports on a collaborative clothing capsule that WOCAAS participants will have a first chance to get their hands on. From hats, jackets, shirts & more, this Philadelphia-based company has created some kick-a$$, off-centered outerwear that’s perfect for hitting the high-seas … or staying on solid ground!

But the collaborative spirit doesn’t stop there … we kept the goodness rolling with a brand-new, exclusive aperitif releasing at WOCAAS! Dogfish Head x Boathouse Sports Scull & Crossbones is a 25% ABV Italian-style aperitif built on a base of 6-year-old apple brandy made from local Delaware apples. Infused with orange, rhubarb, thyme, and red rooibos tea, this aperitif is perfect for spritzes or to enjoy as a unique addition to gin and whiskey cocktails.

Scull & Crossbones is releasing exclusively at our Milton Brewery and Brewings & Eats on Friday, Mar. 21, and will also be available to purchase at the WOCAAS main event on Saturday, Mar. 22. Plus, if you’re looking for a delicious way to enjoy this aperitif, Chesapeake & Maine’s mixologist, Ryan, has created a specialty cocktail, Below Deck, that will be available to sample alongside a pairing of middle neck clam spring bruschetta as one of the many pairings available during the guided tasting experience on Saturday of WOCAAS!

Tell me more about this ‘Guided Tasting Experience’!

Go behind-the-scenes of our Milton Brewery and explore 12 different samples of off-centered ales & spirits paired with some incredible culinary concoctions during Saturday’s main event of WOCAAS. From Ryan’s Below Deck cocktail featuring Dogfish Head x Boathouse Sports Scull & Crossbones aperitif, to some of our newest ales, to obscurities and rarities you’ve come to know and love, the spectrum of goodness is endless. Many of the offerings are libations you can’t get anywhere else, so head to dogfish.com/wocaas to check out the full list!

We have tickets available for both general admission and designated driver for this day of goodness, but there are only a few timeslots remaining! Every ticket holder will receive a commemorative tasting glass, as well as access to twelve sampling stations of food and drink pairings (designated driver tickets will only have access to the food samples and soft drinks at the bar). Head to dogfish.com/wocaas/buy-tickets now to grab a spot while you still can!

PLUS, since this is an extra special WOCAAS in celebration of our big 3-0, we’re doing a super special whiskey sale exclusively for this event! During the guided tour experience on Saturday, we’ll be offering ticket holders a whiskey deal you won’t want to pass up. While supplies last, we’ll have our Alternate Takes #4, Let’s Get Lost, AND Hull & Helm available for just $75. Yep, buy any one of those three options and you’ll receive the other two for a trifecta of epic proportions.

Keep the goodness rolling ALL. WEEKEND. LONG!

We don’t call it the WEEKEND of Compelling Ales & Spirits for nothing … there’s happenings all across our coastal Delaware properties ALL. WEEKEND. LONG! Although the Dogfish INN package is already sold out, and so is the Friday night beer dinner, there’s plenty of other happenings to enjoy throughout the weekend. Kick-off the weekend strong with a fireside chat at our Dogfish INN with our pals from Boathouse Sports to chat through our collabs with them and Sam. Then, rock into the night with live music both Friday and Saturday nights from 9 – 11 p.m. at Brewings & Eats. After the main event on Saturday, we’ll be gathering around the Dogfish INN’s fireside once again with our good friends from Record Store Day to chat all things beer, music, and our partnership together over the years. Then, what better way to cap off the perfect weekend than with a Lobster Brunch?? Head to Chesapeake & Maine on Sunday for $15 lobsters, live music, delicious cocktails and so much more! Make your reservation today!

Get the details on all of these happenings all at dogfish.com/wocaas.

So, what d’ya say?? Will we see you at this year’s Weekend of Compelling Ales & Spirits?? There are only a few time slots remaining for the guided tasting experience on Saturday, Mar. 22, so grab your tickets while you still can!
