Switchback Brewing Co. Adds KRUSH N.A. IPA to Year-Round Lineup
BURLINGTON, VT — What began as a one-time collaboration for the 2026 Craft Brewers Conference has evolved into a year-round offering for Switchback Brewing Co. KRUSH N.A. IPA now joins Switchback’s other offerings in the market following an exciting response from customers at Switchback Beer Garden & Smokehouse. This marks another milestone in Switchback’s growing non-alcoholic program, with Switchback currently the only brewery producing non-alcoholic beer onsite in Vermont.
From Collaboration to Year-Round Release
Originally brewed as a collaboration between Switchback Brewing Co., Sustainable Beverage Technologies (SBT), and Yakima Chief Hops, KRUSH N.A. IPA was developed for the 2026 Craft Brewers Conference to showcase what could be achieved when modern hop character, innovative non-alcoholic brewing technology, and Switchback’s brewing philosophy come together.
Following the conference, the beer was released as a limited offering at Switchback Beer Garden & Smokehouse, where it quickly became one of the brewery’s most talked-about beers. Built around the bold, modern character of Krush® hops and brewed using SBT’s BrewVo® technology, the full-bodied hazy N.A. IPA delivers bright tropical aroma, layered hop flavor, and the balance and drinkability that define everything Switchback brews. Notes of tropical fruit, orange, and citrus create a bright, modern hop profile built for IPA drinkers.
“KRUSH N.A. IPA proved what we knew all along: that non-alcoholic beer can deliver the same flavor, aroma, body, and drinkability people expect from alcoholic beer,” said Bill Cherry, President and Brewmaster of Switchback Brewing Co. “The collaboration gave us an opportunity to showcase what we could achieve and prove that consumers don’t have to compromise when choosing a non-alcoholic beer.”
A Beer Garden Favorite
The response at Switchback Beer Garden & Smokehouse ultimately helped shape the beer’s future. What began as a limited release quickly developed a following among customers, helping earn KRUSH N.A. IPA a place in the brewery’s year-round lineup.
“The most common reaction we heard was, ‘Are you sure this is non-alcoholic?'” said Josh Weber, Managing Partner of Switchback Beer Garden & Smokehouse. “People would order one out of curiosity and then come back telling their friends to try it. It quickly became one of the most talked-about beers we had on the menu.”
Providing Access to High-Quality N.A. Production in the State of Vermont
KRUSH N.A. IPA’s success comes as Switchback has expanded its capabilities as a BrewVo production partner. With BrewVo technology now fully integrated into its Burlington brewery, Switchback serves as an East Coast production partner, working with breweries and beverage brands to produce high-quality non-alcoholic beer. Currently, Switchback is the only brewery in the state of Vermont producing non-alcoholic beer onsite, at the same location since its founding in the South End of Burlington.
While Switchback N.A. demonstrated the brewery’s ability to recreate the iconic character of Switchback Ale without alcohol, KRUSH N.A. IPA showcases the potential for entirely new beers built specifically around the platform. Together, the two beers reflect Switchback’s commitment to advancing non-alcoholic craft beer while maintaining the quality, balance, and consistency that have defined the brewery for more than two decades.
KRUSH N.A. IPA is available now at Switchback Beer Garden & Smokehouse and through participating retailers throughout Switchback’s distribution footprint.
