Tröegs Introduces Daylight Chaser Dark IPA
I brought you a peek at this beer back in Aug, 2025, and now this update from Tröegs Independent Brewing in Hershey, Pennsylvania:
HERSHEY, PA – Tröegs Independent Brewing announces the release of Daylight Chaser. This dark IPA joins the brewery’s lineup of seasonally rotating beers alongside Field Study, Leaf Seeker, and Blizzard of Hops.
“Springtime in this region can be dark and feels like it will never arrive,” explains Tröegs co-founding brother and brewmaster John Trogner. “But the snow begins to melt, the days get longer, and you start to get excited for that first warm day. This beer is meant to help snap out of the cold and build that anticipation.”
Daylight Chaser starts with a complex malt bill incorporating pale, caramel, and black malts as well as an addition of wheat to produce a dusky hue and rich, toasty malt backbone.
To brighten the flavor and aroma profiles, a combination of Simcoe, Mosaic and Citra hops adds radiant notes of blood orange and papaya.
Clocking in at 6.3% ABV, Daylight Chaser yearns for the warm glow of longer days ahead and is a sign that the equinox is near.
“With Daylight Chaser, we wanted to capture the optimism of the season,” adds Trogner. “It’s a dark beer, but the color is deceiving. The hop character is really bright and shines through in the flavor and aroma. And after the recent snowstorm, we think everyone is dreaming of the warmer days ahead.”
Daylight Chaser Dark IPA is available on draft and in 12-oz. bottles and cans across the brewery’s entire distribution footprint.
Daylight Chaser is also included in the forthcoming Perpetual Exploration variety pack for spring. Each 12-pack features the new seasonal beer alongside year-round favorites Perpetual IPA, Graffiti Highway IPA, and Troegenator Double Bock.
Beer drinkers can find Daylight Chaser, Perpetual Exploration, and other Tröegs beers near them using the Tröegs Brew Finder.
