Acquisition expands 2 Towns portfolio and strengthens commitment to cider’s continued growth nationwide

CORVALLIS, Oregon. — Jan. 6th 2026 — 2 Towns Ciderhouse today announced the acquisition of the Seattle Cider brand, expanding the company’s portfolio and reinforcing its long-term commitment to advancing the cider category across the United States.

Seattle Cider has been a key part of the modern cider movement for more than a decade, known for its innovation, approachable styles, and dedication to craft. With this acquisition, 2 Towns plans to continue supporting and growing the Seattle Cider brand while ensuring its products remain available to cider fans in markets nationwide.

“We’ve long respected what Seattle Cider has brought to the category,” said Lee Larsen, CEO of 2 Towns Ciderhouse. “They’ve helped shape the modern cider landscape through creativity, quality, and a real passion for the craft. We’re excited to welcome the Seattle Cider brand into the 2 Towns family and build on that momentum together.”

2 Towns will work closely with trade partners and distributors in the coming months to support a smooth transition and continued momentum for the Seattle Cider brand.
2026 2 Towns Ciderhouse Seattle Cider Update

This 8 Jan 2026 update from 2 Towns Ciderhouse:

Seattle, WA – January 8, 2026 – Seattle Cider Company today announced the sale of the Seattle Cider brand to 2 Towns Ciderhouse, a fellow Pacific Northwest craft cidery, as a strategic step to support the long-term growth and sustainability of the brand. Founded in 2013, Seattle Cider has become known for innovative, high-quality, great-tasting craft cider, and under 2 Towns’ stewardship, the brand will continue to be produced with the same commitment to quality and creativity that consumers expect. The transfer of the Seattle Cider brand is expected to be
completed by the end of February.

“Our sales have been increasing over the past twelve months, but the combination of the growing cost of doing business near to downtown Seattle, and being a midsize player in the craft cider market with low economies of scale, meant that we had a hard decision to make for the long term financial sustainability of the Seattle Cider brands,” said Andy Kay, CEO of Seattle Cider’s parent company. “We are honored that 2 Towns Ciderhouse, who share the same values and commitment to premium craft products as we do, will continue to grow the Seattle Cider brands and we will work together through the transition period over the next couple of months to ensure a successful transfer. The most difficult part of this decision is the impact it will have on our employees over the coming months. I would like to thank all the Seattle Cider employees for their dedication, passion and professionalism. This was an extremely difficult decision to make, but we could not continue the status quo from a financial point of view.”

As part of this transition and after careful consideration, Seattle Cider will begin winding down its Seattle-based operations.

Over the coming months, as production transitions to 2 Towns Ciderhouse in Corvallis, Oregon, Seattle Cider will begin the process of closing its Seattle-based production facility and taproom, with a planned final day of operations on February 27, 2026. As a result, team members will be impacted through the closure process. We are offering exit packages and job placement support to affected employees, and we are facilitating introductions to 2 Towns for eattle Cider team members who may wish to explore employment opportunities where possible.

Our employees have always been the heart of Seattle Cider, and we are deeply grateful for their dedication, craftsmanship, and connection to our Seattle community. We remain committed to supporting our team members through this transition.

While production will move, Seattle Cider’s identity remains rooted in the Pacific Northwest. From the beginning, the brand has stood for craft, creativity, and a deep respect for quality ingredients and community; these values extend beyond city limits and are shared across the region. 2 Towns Ciderhouse was selected as a steward of the Seattle Cider brand because of this shared ethos and their commitment to preserving what makes each brand distinct. Together, we believe Seattle Cider can continue to reflect the spirit of the Pacific Northwest while reaching new audiences in the years ahead.
