About Epic Brewing:
Our Saga
Back in 2009, Epic Brewing Company became Utah’s first brewery since prohibition to exclusively brew high-alcohol content beer.
Intimidating, right? Remember, we’re in Utah and adhere to Utah’s definition of “high-alcohol beer.”
Back in those days, the state considered any beer over 4% ABV a “High-alcohol beer,” aka “High-point beer,” or “Heavy beer.” It’s still illegal for grocery stores and draft beer to be high-alcohol. High-alcohol beers must be purchased at state liquor stores and poured out of cans & bottles, or, purchased directly from the brewery.
But we couldn’t wait for Utah to catch up with the rest of the country. So, we opened a tiny tasting room in our small brewhouse where we pour each and every one of our high-point beers, 2oz at a time.
We’d put them on draft if it was legal!
Ever since, we’ve pushed the boundaries of the craft beer industry. Starting with a handful of styles, ranging from pilsner to imperial stout, eventually spinning off into the world of barrel-aged Belgian ales, smoked porters, and more. We’ve never let Utah’s laws confine us.
Hand Crafted and Carefully Packaged
We handcraft and carefully package our unique beers in cans and classic 22-ounce bottles. Whether you’re throwing cans in your pack for a long hike or breaking out bombers for big celebrations, we have the right beer for you. Discover natural variations of taste, from sweet or smoky malt to hazy and piney IPAs, or barrel-aged stouts with decadent adjuncts.
Epic is perfect for Utah’s casual beer drinkers and adventurous connoisseurs alike!
Quality, Care, Freshness
We’re passionate about creating high-quality, fresh, and extremely flavorful beer in small quantities with unending varieties. Here at Epic Brewing Company, we use only the finest malts from the US and Europe, intense hops, and triple-filtered water.
Even in our hurried-up and distracted era, we believe it’s important to find time to kick your feet back and enjoy a delicious craft beer.
