Susquehanna Ale House Opening in Wilkes-Barre To Potential Controversy
Last night one of my friends tipped me off to the opening tomorrow (11/16) of the new Susquehanna Ale House at 12 S Main St in the Hardware Bar in Wilkes-Barre, PA. Susquehanna Ale House has a Facebook page just opened on Nov 7th where they list their Grand Opening as tomorrow (11/16)…and here’s where the fun begins.

To add to the fun,
Susquehanna Ale House is part of the Wilkes-Barre Hardware Bar and it appears to be a re-themed version of their previous Mardi Gras section which caught fire on 11/9. According to the Citizen’s Voice, and bar owner Ron Kamionka, the new bar will feature up to 15 craft beers on tap and was scheduled for an opening on 11/21. This date appears to be bumped up to 11/6 according to their FB page. I have reached out to everyone involved, so stay tuned for more details.
UPDATE: I did hear from Fred Maier at Susquehanna Brewing Co and he confirms the brewery has nothing to do with the Susquehanna Ale House.
UPDATE 2: I also heard from the Back Yard Ale House and their response, “we are waiting to hear back from our attorneys to determine an appropriate course of action.”
UPDATE 3: I heard from Kara @ Susquehanna Ale House. Her response when asked if they were associated with Susquehanna brewing Co or Backyard Ale House, “
We are not associated with either, but we will carry Susquehanna Brewing Co. for you to enjoy!”
