Mybeerbuzz .com Highlights Anderson Valley Framboise Rose Gose & Hop Hyzer

Back in October we brought you a peek at this beer, and just a week or so ago we brought the release details…and today we’re sampling it.

The beer pours a bright ruby color and the aromas lead with floral and tart fruit, thanks in part to the rose hips used in the beer. The mouthfeel is bubbly and effervescent and we really enjoyed how refreshing this beer was. There are lots of flavors going on here and I really liked the subtle floral rose hips, the fruit forward berry flavors, the bit of lemon and the tart slightly salty finish. The balance is really good on this gose, so if you’re expecting a blast of salt, you won’t find it, but you will find complexity, balance and a really refreshing gose.
We also brought you a peek at our second beer, and I’ll admit that the disc golf theme sold me before I knew anything about the beer. This is Hop Hyzer Ale and it is a sessionable ale that will swing in at 4.9%-AbV.
Hop Hyzer pours a pretty gold color with loads of sticky and resinous hops in the nose. The flavors begin with resinous hop flavors with just a touch of floral and spicy hops and end with a nicely balanced hop finish. The beer has a a big hop presence, but it won’t overwhelm you like a traditional IPA or double IPA. The mouthfeel is light and the finish is slightly dry and refreshing. I think Hop Hyzer would be a great beach, camping and active beer, but it would be particularly perfect for disc golf, especially if you’re playing with a bear-deer in Boonville, CA.
We really enjoyed sampling Anderson Valley Framboise Rose Gose & Hop Hyzer and you can too. This gose was shipped in March in 12oz cans and on draft so get out there and try it for yourself. Hop Hyzer is available in 12oz cans as well so be sure to try both. And when you do, be sure to let us know what YOU think.
