Mybeerbuzz .com Highlights Silver City Brewery (Review)If you draw a straight line between Olympic Nation Park and Mt. Rainier you hit the little town of Bremerton, WA…and if you bend that line just a bit on the west side of Puget Sound, you’ll land squarely on Silver City Brewery.

I’ll admit that prior to today, I’ve never been lucky enough to sample their beers, but all of that is about to change in a big way. Opened in 1996 by Steve & Scott Houmes, Silver City Brewery beers can be found in Washington state in cans and bottles. Their motto is “An all-inclusive NW craft beer adventure in every pint we brew. Beer for one, beer for all” and they are also know for brewing some of the very first large production hazy IPAs on the west coast– “with industry-leading innovations in consistency and shelf-stability.”

Today I’m lucky enough to get my hands on not one or two, but eight of their beers, and naturally I can’t wat to try them all…so off we go…Mybeerbuzz .com Highlights Silver City Brewery (Review)

Silver City Brewery Tropic Haze

ABV:  6.4%
IBU:  50
Style:  Hazy IPA
Packaging:  12oz cans
Appearance:  Hazy light golden color
Aroma:   Citrus tropical fruit and pineapple
Mouthfeel:   Light and slightly carbonated
Taste:   Juicy citrus, tropical fruit and oranges lead the way followed by more tropical fruit and mild grapefruit bitterness.
Overall:  Tropic Haze is a really drinkable NEIPA-style beer with a bit more hop bitterness than I was expecting (this was a good thing). The beer leans toward a traditional NEIPA, but pushes that boundary with more fruit-forward hops and a late punch of grapefruit flavor.  This is really a very good beer.

Silver City Brewery Ride The Spiral

ABV:  8%
Style:  DIPA
Packaging:  12oz cans
Appearance:  Hazy copper orange
Aroma:   Tropical fruit, citrus and pineapple
Mouthfeel:   Soft & sticky
Taste:   Oranges, more oranges and a touch of pineapple
Overall:  Ride The Spiral is a really interesting double IPA. The mix of orange and pineapple combined with the citrusy hops on-board to make for a really unique combination for a DIPA. Overall I thought this was a really drinkable and enjoyable orange-forward DIPA.Mybeerbuzz .com Highlights Silver City Brewery (Review)

Silver City Brewery Mystic Mojo

ABV:  7%
Style:  IPA
Packaging:  12oz cans
Appearance:  Hazy bright golden
Aroma:   Grapefruit, citrus and grassy hops
Mouthfeel:   Light & soft
Taste:   Bright citrus, tropical fruits and dank earthy bitterness.
Overall:  Mystic Mojo is carries a really nice mix of classic citrusy hops with just a touch of sticky dank hops in the finish. The light mouthfeel from the oats and lactose on board combines well with the hop blend to make for a really enjoyable IPA.Mybeerbuzz .com Highlights Silver City Brewery (Review)

Silver City Sun Glitter Peach IPA

ABV:  6.5%
Style:  IPA
Packaging:  12oz cans
Appearance:  Hazy golden
Aroma:   Stonefruit and mild peach
Mouthfeel:   Medium
Taste:   Peaches, apricots and mild citrus hops flavors
Overall:  Glitter Peach IPA has a really nice mix of peach flavor with a  really subtle and mild hop presence. I love all things peach and while this was one of my favorites, I’d love to see even more hops in the mix. Mybeerbuzz .com Highlights Silver City Brewery (Review)

Silver City Cosmic Waves

ABV:  6.7%
Style:  IPA
Packaging:  12oz cans
Appearance:  Crystal clear gold
Aroma:   Dank hops and citrus
Mouthfeel:   Satisfying and sticky

Overall:  Cosmic Waves feels and tastes like a really classic west-coast-style IPA. The hop presence is piney and citrusy and the beer finishes really crisp and clean. Overall this beer is extremely satisfying and drinkable.Mybeerbuzz .com Highlights Silver City Brewery (Review)

Silver City Ridgetop Red

IBU: 15
Style:  Red Ale
Packaging:  12oz cans
Appearance:  Deep red/brown
Aroma:   Mild malt & earthy hops
Mouthfeel:   Satisfying and sticky

Silver City Magnificent Bastard

Style:  Scotch Ale
Packaging:  12oz cans
Appearance:  Rich mahogany
Aroma:   Sweet toffee & caramel
Mouthfeel:   Rich & robust
Taste:   Malt and caramel forward with mild hop bitterness
Overall:  Magnificent Bastard is a classic semi-sweet Scotch Ale. The flavors of caramel malt and toffee dominate the flavors, but the finish is still well balanced and a bit roasty.Mybeerbuzz .com Highlights Silver City Brewery (Review)

Silver City Oktoberfest

ABV:  6.3%
Style:  Oktoberfest Lager
Packaging:  22oz bottles
Appearance:  Deep copper amber
Aroma:   Malty with floral hops
Mouthfeel:   Medium
Taste:   Caramel malt, toasted grains and floral hops.
Overall:  Oktoberfest tastes and feels like a traditional Märzen-style lager. The balance of roasty and sweet caramel malts and mild late bitterness works well and the 22oz bottle really helps with the overall enjoyment of the beer in your Okto liter mug.

Mybeerbuzz .com Highlights Silver City Brewery (Review)A big thank you to Silver City Brewing for not only sending along eight different beers, but also some really cool Silver City swag. Get out there and try all of these beers for yourself and I know you will enjoy them as much as I did.  When you do try them, be sure to let us know what YOU think.
