About The Bruery:
The Bruery is a craft brewery located in Orange County, CA, known for innovative, inspired, taste-forward beers that push the boundaries of what beer can be. Along with two Tasting Room locations in Orange County, and a store in Washington D.C., The Bruery runs three beer premium beer clubs: The Preservation Society®, The Reserve Society®, and The Hoarders Society®. The Bruery offers direct to consumer delivery across CA, DC, PA, VA, VT, ND, OH, and NH, along with national distribution in 29 states.
To understand what makes The Bruery truly special, you first have to understand how we started: just Patrick Rue in his kitchen with a thirst for knowledge and a passion for how interesting beer can be. It was his passion and insatiable curiosity that led him to open a brewery, build a team of world-class like-minded brewers and eventually earn the title of Master Cicerone. This unique combination of unwavering creativity, unquestionable expertise, and relentless innovation, drive us to craft beers that quite frankly, might change the way you think about beer.
Taste Over Style
This really sums up our brewing philosophy. We never shoot for a specific style, instead we let taste act as our compass. We take our inspiration from the culinary world, traditional beer styles, natural ingredients, vineyards and even junk food, but wherever that journey takes us – taste is our guide.
Like Nothing You’ve Ever Tasted Before
This is our promise, and our goal. Every time you open a beer from The Bruery, we love to see the wow on your face, and the “how’d they do that?” in your eyes. Ultimately we believe this experience just makes live a little bit more interesting. Our beers spark conversations, complement meals, and bring people together. They might even change the way you think about beer.
The Bruery is an American brewing company that specializes in premium, specialty craft beers, particularly barrel-aged and sour beers. It was founded in Placentia, California in 2008 by Patrick Rue. The name “The Bruery” is a combination of his last name and “brewery”.
Here are some key aspects of The Bruery:
Brewing philosophy
Taste over style: The Bruery prioritizes taste and flavor exploration over adherence to strict style guidelines.
Unconventional Ingredients & Barrel Aging: They are known for their use of unique ingredients, such as coriander, bitter orange peel and lavender in their “Orchard White” or bacteria like Pediococcus and Lactobacillus along with Pinot noir grapes in their “Pinotlambicus”, according to Wikipedia. Nearly half of their beers are aged in oak barrels (both wine and bourbon).
No filtration or pasteurization: The Bruery does not filter or pasteurize its beers, relying on bottle conditioning for natural carbonation.
Notable beers
Black Tuesday: This is a strong bourbon barrel-aged imperial stout released annually on the final Tuesday of October. It’s named for the stock market crash and a disastrous brew day.
Orchard White: A tart wheat beer featuring orange zest and coriander.
“12 Days of Christmas” series: A collection of seasonal beers released annually.
Anniversary Ales: Special beers released to celebrate their anniversaries.
Oude Tart: A Belgian-style sour ale that has won gold medals at the World Beer Cup and Great American Beer Festival.
Other brands
The Bruery also produces beers under the following brands:
Bruery Terreux: Focuses on farmhouse-style and oak-aged sour ales fermented with wild yeast strains.
Offshoot Beer Co.: Focus on Hop-forward beers.
