From Ballast Point:

BONITO BLONDE
An approachable beer, with some substance.
Our Bonito blonde ale is inspired by our perma-sunny days. This brew draws you in with its golden color and soft malt character, while the light mouthfeel and dry finish keeps you coming back. And what would set a San Diego blonde apart? A subtle hint of hops, naturally.
Year-Round Release: 12 oz. bottles & draft

TART PEACH KOLSCH
A brew that’s ripe with flavor.
Our Tart Peach Kölsch is a fresh take on one of our very first beers. The juicy aroma and flavor of ripe peach complements the subtle fruitiness from the Kölsch yeast in this bright, refreshing ale. Add a tickle of tartness to round out the senses, and you get a new brew that’s interestingly delightful.
Limited Release: 22 oz. bottles & draft

SEA ROSE TART CHERRY WHEAT
A crisp wheat ale with a tart cherry twist.

Our Sea Rose tart cherry wheat ale is a fresh take on fruit beers. Originally conceived during an employee-led R&D brew, it’s one of our most imaginative recipes yet. The American wheat style has a soft mouthfeel and clean body, while fresh cherry juice adds a soft coral color and fruity nose that gives way to a dry, slightly tart finish. It’s approachable, yet unexpected—exactly what we love to brew.
Year-Round Release: 12 oz. bottles & draft

This Week’s R&D Beers
Our Research & Development Program gives Ballast Point employees a chance to experiment with unique ingredients and styles. If they’re popular, they may become a new beer—so vote with your glass!

Roots to Boots Mer Diablo (10.6% ABV)
Belgian-Style Quadruple Ale Brewed With Mulato Chili Peppers
A complex blend of bready, malty and dark chocolate flavors and aromas, this ale offers a whisper of roasted chili peppers to enhance the dark chocolate and clove notes with a faint heat lingering on the finish. And the name? Just as complex as the beer. Mer Diablo translates to Sea Devil, a nickname for Monk Fish. Mer is French for "Sea" and is spoken in part of Belgium, making a nod to the Belgian-Style of the beer. Diablo, from the Spanish language, is for the roasted Mexican chilies used.

Roots to Boots Weize Old Goat (8.8% ABV)
Weizenbock
A San Diego County Fair 2016 "Best of Show" winner, "Weize Old Goat" is a strong, malty, fruity, wheat-based ale, combining the yeast flavors of a weissbier (banana & clove character) and malty-rich flavor with the strength and body of a Doppelbock. This is a food-friendly beer, rich with melanoidins reminiscent of toasted bread. Where Weize means wheat, the playful goat connection denotes the origin of Bock beer from Einbeck. Due to their Bavarian accents, citizens of Munich pronounced “Einbeck” as “ein bock” (a billy goat), and thus the beer became known as “bock” with goats shown on many bock beer labels. Just a fun little trivia for your next party 😉
